Stumble misfire condition

Well 35000km later and 10 trips to one dealer who said bad gas.performance vehicle.way it was designed. And the best one....the way you drive it.....no codes can't repair. Sign out front should say shoemaker on staff.

Drove by another dealer stopped in didn't say anything let them take it for a drive.....guess what, mechanic said crankshaft position sensor is no good. Not bad 5 min and diagnosed. Then I told them my 12 month ordeal at other dealer. Anyway that's that..for the record the shoemaker dealer was Ancaster toyota. Thanks for nothing. Can sell them just cant fix'em

 

Is you VIN on the recall list?

 

Nope. I think toyota should be recalling whole production run. Just my opinion

 

something like that, or at a minimum a TSB if they are concerned about extending the official recall. too many people on here have had a big improvement by replacing that damn sensor, most of them (like me) not on a recall list

 

I think I'm more miffed off about complaining for a year to dealer and Toyota Canada and getting the wtf do you know story. Then going to another dealer and 5 min find problem. Just don't get it.

 

Did that repair fix the lag?

 

Ordered part. Service said Friday it would be in. No worries I will report.

Oh hell no, now I gotta go order one and fix it myself. My truck isn't on the recall list and I don't feel like dealing with the dealership. Anyone have the proper part number for the new sensor?

I just past 4000 miles on my way home this evening and my truck started sputtering and was down on power, and lost MPGs, Hills I normally go up in 6th needed 4th just to get up. Hoping it is some random passing issue and is back to normal tomorrow, guess it could be the CPS that everyone else is having trouble with too.

 

I think the old style is 89 and the new one 98.

CPS in our trucks stands for "Combustion Pressure Sensor"
CKP is "Crankshaft Position Sensor / Crank Angle Sensor"
CMP is "Camshaft Position Sensor"
