    First, you assumed I said average, I stated it was scangage mpg which you told me was not accurate.
    Agree, not a mpg war. I shared my mods, have no idea of the total gains or losses. Seem obvious if the mods trend a better fuel consumption at the same highway speed the truck is apparently making the same power at less fuel burn.

    Fool, not even close. You come into this topic and make posts like fake news. No where did I ever mention AVERAGE mpg. You jumped my crap for not calculating mpg correctly, then label me as a fool for this 25 mpg average that I never even mentioned.

    Stop with the twisting of words to give a false and fake meaning to what gets posted.

    The topic is about power. No where did I claim any hp increase or decrease. No where did I claim average mpg.

    The mods on the truck are listed. The cruise controled steady highway speed is the mpg I mentioned. The mod of installing long tube headers, a URD y pipe, and o2 sims merely increased the before and after cruise mpg. Same speed at less fuel burn indicates more power is made.

    Why are you so clueless to be able to read what was posted and not be a fool about it.

    Torspd, where did you find the photo of how my Tacoma feels sometimes...guess not quite that bad, but it is a kind of large truck being DCLB, so a racer it will never be.

    Mine too. Then there are those times when I massage the skinny pedal, and the sounds, the pull, exhaust, all make me proud again.

    I would have a hard time arguring against the gains made here. Don't fault the operator for not knowing to start just above 3k rpms, to prevent down shifting.

    This is what a reasonably stock Taco 4.0 V6 Auto looks like on a dyno (K&N CAI + Spintech Muffler)


    You don't get a very smooth curve on an Automatic though!

    Compared to after adding URD Headers. (This graph shows RWHP at the tires)

    When Gadget first showed those headers, I so wanted them. They had just been released when a kind of local deal appeared on DTLT, URD Y pipe and sims. Money saved made it worthwhile. DTLT were one of the go to setups, and since the install, I am happy with it.

    I had previously bought DTST headers, new from a guy here, and a set of reasonable mileage cats to weld on. Just never took the time to do it. This setup was easy, and with no emissions testing, well you get the idea.

    I do think the NST spacer helped how the truck pulls. Maybe smoothed the torque curve a bit.

    Downside of the entire setup is, even stock, it is as if the computer map is flawed. Smooth but low power output down low, followed by a dramatic mid rpm gain / surge. Almost as if the throttle by wire and map are very detuned in lower rpm, but fail to blend well as the truck begins to run. Probably part of the reason these V6 get really low mpg.

    The 2010 2wd also has the worthless, brake shoe wearing out traction control. What a dumb system. Replacing the diff was worth every penny. No more worry about it as that mid range bump in power screws with traction control. Now, both tires are making it happen.

    Do you have an ABS kill switch installed? PMK?

    That will also remove the throttle nanny, when the time is right to have some fun.

    By the way, the throttle map does have a negative bow in it. In reference to a linear cable throttle body. This is where the Sprint Booster comes into play, of something like my Haltech Elite, which controls the drive-by-wire.

    That is how it feels to drive.

    The ABS switch, yes, push it once, push it twice hold it blah blah. When needed, I disable the nanny, the traction control is moot with the TT diff. Also disarm the side air bags for slow moving.

    Thanks for the throttle map graph. Sure wish it were a bit more linear. The driveability would likely be better.

    I moved that slope in the opposite direction, and holy shiz! It was nearly peeling out from every stop. It has since been made linear. Lol.

    Yes it is. But I can 100% guarantee it'll make more power than a supercharged Toyota 4.0L. I mean with 9.4L of displacement how could it not? Haha

    The 3.7 Nissan GT-R motor produces more power than many big American v8 and v10s. Just because it's a huge motor doesn't mean it's powerful.
