Down. Looks like each place only has a couple events left. I'd have to verify that I'm free. My wife drill schedule often changes month-to-month which makes it a little difficult.

Also in. But there's a good chance I won't be able to : ( I'd need more details and time to consider other plans to make sure I can budget time and money.

I could be down for this too. From other posts here and other places, there are other runs happening:

9/26-30 - Overland Bound trip on the NM part of Enchanted Rockies
Mid October - a TW group going to Big Bend
Weekend before Thanksgiving - @pixelsailor heading to Big Bend for new moon astrophotography

Then based on the discussions around those, ideas for a trip to Baja, Ouchita, and other places came up. I would suggest a trip to Barnwell Mountain as well.

    Wouldn't you like to know!
Academy or Wal-mart is your cheapest option on all ammo that they carry. Might be able to find a better deal online but they would price match anyway. I got a pair of Costa's at Academy a few weeks ago for half price because of Amazon then Academy took off another 5%.

That's close. I'd need red and white stripes, and replace the star with the shield.

I'm down to plan a trip to Las Cruces. I should still have my trail entrances marked. I've been twice; once with a group of rock crawlers but I was riding shot gun, none of our rigs could handle what they were doing, it was old KOTH testing grounds. However, the second time, I found a trail head where you decide to what mountain to drive up, drive up it, point to a new mountain, then drive up that mountain. I haven't explored nearly all of it, its seemingly endless. If I can get the truck in good shape again i'm totally down to show y'all around what I know.

There's an old mining road we can camp at the first night, not a long trail to get up to it, and I kid you not I pulled a trailer up the entire trail to the abandoned mining cabin lookin' thing. Awesome area for sure.

I have September 4th off, so that weekend would work best for me. Y'all be sure to drive through Lubbock where I live throughout the year and we can take a break and i'll meet up with y'all.

Well then shoot lets do it!

Only thing is once you start a trail you're pretty much committed, as most of 'em are running the side of a mountain, so once we go we gotta keep on truckin' 'till there's an opening! There are quite a few openings, but on the route I did the last time, there we're a couple times we had to do some technical stuff that was either finish it or... well... roll down the mountain

There was only one line the entire time that made me slightly uncomfortable, and it was optional, in an opening, had a death drop off on one side and I was going down at night slightly "buzzed" to get my truck down to sleep in and it was an open area. Besides that, was pretty much smooth cruisin.

September 4th is Labor Day so would be perfect for a road trip IMO. Its a 9 hour drive from Austin to Las Cruces which is a lot for one driver but still doable... maybe us austin folks could plan for a stop to sleep about 6 hours in... and then of course, overlanding/wheeling until monday followed by the crushing long convoy home.

This is doable in my opinion.

If y'all want to come Thursday and stay in Lubbock, you could do that. Its just over half way, not sure how many people my college house living room can keep though.

Shot gunning a drive is a skillset of mine for sure, but i'm already so far north that it wouldn't really affect me. I'd need to be back Monday evening, might be willing to skip Friday however. Depends on my course load
