I love my truck for the simplicity of it. All the electronic nannies and do dads are just expensive things that eventually stop working anyway.

The luxury (Creature comforts) it was missing from the factory are readily available and affordable on the aftermarket.

I mean look at what a fully equipped Taco costs now...

I paid sub $30k for my fully "loaded" Offroad...now the same truck in a 3rd Gen with all those do dads are pushing $40K...NO THANKS!!!

    You aren't kidding!

I don't know how I am going to be able to afford to replace either of my vehicles when the time comes.

Yeah, the shop is definitely taking care of the work so that's good. It's just an inconvenience at this point as I really don't need the truck today. But my fishing trip is coming up and gotta start packing tomorrow.

It's amazing how sometimes little things like an o ring can ruin the day. :fingerscrossed:

Buy gently used vehicles has been our motto for the past 15 years. It's worked out just fine for us.

I bought my truck brand new...but, we bought our Camry slightly used. It was the dealerships manager's wife's demo car. Had 25k miles on it and was about a year and a half old. It has been a great car!

The ruggedness of our simple trucks and the poor rating the 3rd gen got. Expense of new vehicles, and savings of buying slightly used.

    EDIT: OH and cameras!

I stumbled into my 2nd Gen sight unseen without ever owning a Toyota before. She was very very very rough but the price for the miles, years and a DCLB was a huge convincing factor. My wife says its "plastic-y" but I love the damn thing.

I mean I paid 26k for a 2014 sr5 prerunner with 50k miles on it back in September of last year. No trade in or anything down. The price stays so damn high because people want them and will pay for them.
