Adding blindspot monitor?

    Hello,

    I have been bothered with a terrible blindspot on my Tacoma2017, access cab, on the passenger side. Between the small side window the posts and the head rest I have had a few close calls and it makes me nervous. I did not get a package with blind spot monitors, which I realize now, I could have possibly ordered originally.

    I tried the little tiny round mirrors that you stick on your side view mirror, but the view is so small, and confusing it only makes it worse. Almost dangerous at night. Anyone have any solutions?? What are my options at this point? Can I add something after market?

    Try messing around with those small mirrors so the only thing they show is the side of your truck and your blindspot. That way you don't have to search around in that mirror, if there is a car there you will immediately see it.

    I have the BSM system and I trust the mirrors more. What if there is a motorcycle or bicycle lane-splitting? I'm not confident in its ability to pickup smaller vehicles.

    Wouldn't a camera on the side be nice, that when you turned your turning indicators on, it would fill your camera display with the image to your right or left? Meanwhile I will try and move my little mirror. Right now it is very confusing seeing in duplicate what the sideview mirror already shows. Especially at night, they both have too many lights in them and it is terribly confusing and distracting. Thanks

    I swapped out my mirrors with the Rav4 mirrors that have the built in extra mirror in the corner.

    Just buy Toyota RAV4 mirrors, they have the extended vision width mirrors built in. Pop out tacoma mirror pop in Ravs

    The OEM BSM is not possible to add without major costs, due to the costs of the radar, possible harness, ecm compatibility etc.

    Best to adjust mirrors better, add 2016+ Rav4 LE mirror lenses or adjust speed up or down 5mph prior to passing, this tests the blind spot before moving into the lane.

    Lol that blind spot is crazy dangerous. My left hand turn onto my main road has almost killed me twice because that b pillar in relation to the spot i need to see is fucking massive.

    I feel your pain. But you just have to adapt. Or, you know. Die.

    T-Rex grill with black bezel. Blacked out all the badges and added the Tacoma on the tail gate. The windows have been tinted to the darkest law will allow.
    I've had two close callsalso. If know one is in passage seat move it up and straighten the seat so the head rest is even with the pillar. That helps until you can come up with a better salutation. Btw I have AC can also.

    Does toyota have the rav4 mirrors with the convex mirrors and the BSM light? I would like to have both. The BSM is great, but i would still like to see before switching lanes.

    I always shoulder check. My truck and my wife's Lexus has the BSM, but I don't trust it completely. I also drive a work van without all the bells and whistles and rent tons of cars, so I have to drive like every car doesn't have these safety features, just would be nice with the convex mirror on my truck, even though I already have the BSM.
