Hey all - I tried searching here and Google for the answer but had no luck. Hopefully someone can help me out. Are the TRD Pro rear leaf springs different from the 4x4 off Road Tacomas. I'm planning to put the TRD Pro Fox suspension on my 2016 4x4 Off Road soon. I would hate to run into any issues when installing if the leafs are different. Thanks for your time.

Shouldn't be. Either way, the shocks will mount up no problem in what your looking to do.

This is just logical thinking but the TRD Pro has a 1 inch lift from factory correct? Lift is achieved from the leaf springs. So unless the TRD Pro is only lifted in the front I would have to think the leaf springs are different from a TRD OR/Sport

Thanks for the reply. Yes, TRD Pro is a 1" lift all around compare to the 4x4 Off-Road models. I was told that the leafs on Pro are different. I may have to add a leaf to level the truck out. Just need to verify if its true or not ;-)

My local Toyota parts guy said the TRD Pro and the TRD OR springs have the same part number, but what does he know.

The trucks have forward rake already. If the Pro does indeed have a 1" lift all around, and you swapped all components, you wold still have the factory rake no?

Sounds like OP needs to go to a dealership and look underneath a PRO to find out what the part number is compared to the one that's on his truck

I had a TX Baja and the leafs were the same as the OR, but the shocks were quite different. Don't know if it's parallel to 3rd Gen.

My dealerships near me never have a Pro sitting on the lot. Everything sells like hot cake here in the Bay Area lol

The Pro has a 1" lift in the front only, I believe
Tell me where to look for a part # and I'll try to take a pic tomorrow

It is absolutely a 1" lift in the front only. I believe the only difference in the rear are the Fox shocks.

So long story short OP, slap those shocks on and drive it like you stole it! Enjoy.

Guess I'll be that guy...How about the Sport model? Same as Pro and OR? I purchased a set of takes offs from a Pro. He is shipping everything suspension related; UCA/Leaf-pack, FR/RR Suspension... I should be good to go, and swap everything, Remove/Replace, right?

You're correct, it's front only and not all around; if it was all around then the published ground clearance number would also be different because that number is measured from the differential. There is another thread about the Pro leaf springs being "tuned" differently but I can't remember if they have a distinct part number. Logic would tell us if they are indeed tuned differently then they will have a different part number to make that distinction. It seems after a few days of COVID-19 shelter-in-place I'm also starting to lose my memory.:D

Yes, the Pro leaf springs are a unique part number. Hopefully the seller included the emergency brake bracket/spacer with the sale.

You can’t tune leaf springs, they are old school slabs of steel.

You can make them thinner/thicker or add and remove leafs to support different weights but your tuning is in the shocks.
