thanks everyone. i must agree about the truck just seems a tad off since the 5100s install, steering that is, more like how the road controls the truck. i'm assuming that there are several contributions to the conditions i'm seeing, but since i'm a total lift newbie, i'm relying on the experience of others and research to guide me.

if you guys think the alignment specs look ok and the truck drives safely, i'll rotate at 3K and roll on...if aftermarket ucas are the answer to better handling, i'm saving up and selling an r/c helicopter or two....i haven't had the tsb done on the rear yet...kind of worried about bringing it to the dealer with the shocks exchanged now....i'm wondering what i should say other than the truth, i wanted to level the truck out....anyway, thanks again everyone.

I installed 5100@1.75" on stock springs and rear TSB 4-leaf pack. Just returned home after alignment.

    ----------front left------front right
    camber ------0.7*-------- 0.7*
    toe ---------0.05*------- 0.04*
    caster -------1.7*-------- 1.9*

I have a similar problem with my truck. I installed toytec 3" lift kit with Cooper STT 285/70/16.
I got them aligned but my steering doesn't feel as firm. It feels like the road controls my steering sometimes. 0-60 mph it's just fine but when I'm on the freeway I sometimes feel like I'm getting pulled. Any suggestions or remmedies?

not to start an argument but I would disagree with camber being so close to 1 and with those caster settings. I had similar numbers before my LR UCAs and the truck experienced exactly what I've been reading here. Above 60 mph was strange...not dangerous but like a heavy cross wind was constantly hitting the truck. Get the caster to at least 2.4 and move the camber down to .0?...or as close to 0 as you can get. The difference is HUGE!

ive never heard of adjusting CASTER from road crown...Now CAMBER yes. Generally if you want to do this you would be a bit more positive on the drivers side..BUT most newer advanced alignment machines/specs already have this built into them...Think of CASTER as the rake of the front suspension on a motorcycle. Also the .3* of change will not be noticeable at all

Its the internet so I am not going to argue with you..but will say that .1 degree in difference from side to side is going to do absolutley nothing for you..Im glad your happy with you alignment...but there is more to doing an alignment then just looking at the screen and adjusting knowing what you adjust affects goes a long way in doing a good alignment. I am unsuscribing

I think you're BEING a dick, not measuring one. you both have opinions and you keep "unsubscribing." Do it already because you obviously think you're right. The guy may know more than you? Or, he may not. But relax already.

Sorry to disagree! But Camber is for the crown effect of the road. To be more specific, Cross Camber.

    READ:
    http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=4

    Camber also influences turning characteristics.

CASTER is stability of the vehicle. It's ability to resist change in direction.

You are giving bad advice no matter how many years you've been working at Toyota!
Sorry I know you are trying to help. But you need to do more research.
I have done extensive R&D on this issue.
I am not trying to disrespect you.

So can we agree a zero camber is better than .7 .9? My guy keeps fighting me that it needs to be positive or negative one way or another but when it's .7-.9 I feel like the outside of my bfg ta's will wear faster.......ur thoughts

Ok, he kept saying some shit about one wheel will come off the ground on a turn? I'm not even taking it back to them cuz they're incompetent, I'm gonna just pay the money and take it to the right people tomorrow

What can they do to adjust it without screwing the camber up too bad

Yeah I know I took it in from a .6 .7 camber with a 1.4 1.5 cast to get it closer to zero and it bit me in the ass

I'm not liking my alignment, the +camber . Driven 110 miles on it this weekend. Steering wheel is not straight on freeway.

I am making another appointment with my lifetime alignment.

ok today, they got me at camber .15 .16 and my caster is 2.24 and 2.5, Its a little stiffer than stock settings but it drives good and my tires wont wear bad due to the camber settings. You feel like the caster will be sufficent? its def better than the 1.43/2.25 they had me at yesterday
