ok, I looked...glanced... through the 9 million pages of the owners manual and can't seem to find an answer for these...

    1) What the hell does the RSCA button do????? My best guess is Rear Stability Control Action

2)What does the "Set" button (next to the hood release) do?? I thought it was adjustable pedals but nope.

    3) How do I get the FRONT cab lights to turn on when I open the door (currently only the back cab lights turn on)??

    4) If I push the front cab light on and then forget to turn it off when I exit the truck, will it automatically turn off??

Prize awarded to first person who correctly answers all questions.

The set button is for reseting the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System).

As for any of the interior lights, if you forget to turn them off, they will eventually go off on there own. They are on a timed circuit to prevent dead batteries.

Cant help you on the other two questions as my truck doesn't have an RSCA button, and I'm not sure how you would get the map lights to turn on when you open the door.

    1) The first one is kind of important. Roll Sensing Curtain Bags. Turn it off and on. At least, thats what I was made believe...

    2) The second button is used to reset your TPMS

    3) For your lights, put the tab on the back light to door. If that doesnt work, then your truck wont use that setup unless you mod it yourself.

    4) Mine does not turn off automatically. Later models do, I was just told.

I just remembered, the RSCA button disables the side curtain airbags for when you're feeling froggy off road. I think the last thing you would want while doing a little bit of four wheeling would be to have the air bags deploy on you.

    Answers:
    1) The RSCA controls the Roll Sensing Curtain Airbags which would be deployed during a roll over incident. Press and hold the button to turn it off.

    2) The set button resets your TPS senors. Press and hold it to reset.

    3) YOu can't unless you mod it. It's stupid. The front lights are MAP lights.

    4) No they will stay on untill you turn them off manually.

I spent ten minutes on this, thats $20.

Thanks.... but EVERY other truck I've owned had the front cab lights turn on when you open the door...kinda makes it easier to see in the dark....How the hell is that stupid?

There is probably a way to wire the front inner lights to the center lights and use the door light switch in that way. As to how, I wouldn't really know, but im sure someone who knows anything about wiring can chip in on that one.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the fact that the truck must be modified in order to have the map lights illuminate when the doors are opened. And FWIW the map lights WILL turn off after, maybe 20 or 30 minutes, if left on. I've had this happen to me a couple times while I was filling out paper work in my truck with the map lights on, and the door shut. The lights would simply turn off after a certain period of time.

ok thanks...personally I think the front cab lights should just turn on when you open the door without a mod.....seems pretty logical...never seen a truck that doesn't have this.

I'm glad they turn off automatically cause I tend to forget to turn them off....my Titan kept them on for 1 minute after turning the truck off...that was a nice feature.

How the hell do you know if they are disabled or enabled??????

There doesn't seem to be any indicator light anywhere....where is it???

    THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't tell you to be honest. My truck does not have the side airbags.

Use the websites search feature and you can find out all the answers you want about the RSCA button.

I'm pretty certain there's a light in the instrument cluster to tell you when RSCA are switched off.

Must be an addition to the newer models. My map lights have drained my battery at least twice after I mistakenly left them on.

Yup, and remember to hold the button in to turn them off, and hold again to turn them back on

Just checked my truck for the map lights and the RSCA. The book says that the lights are manual. They need to be turned on and off, won't do it automatically. As far as the RSCA, this is what the book says and where the RSCA light is located.

And remember to read far enough into the post because you DO NOT need the diode. Just a simple wire from the map lights to the dome light and switching the wires in the plug at the map lights. That's it. Best mod out there since it is stupid for Toyota not to have done this from the start!

    Will try this Tomorrow...THANKS!

Apparently you have to HOLD the button for a few secons which I didn't do...will try this tomorrow...I just pressed the button....Thanks!

One other minor thing....It would be nice if the back up cam image had 2 laser lines which indicated the area in the trucks path....my F150 had this and it was SWEET....
