I can't say I'm too familiar with the different lifts available, but you can always go back, just depends on how much money you want to spend, worst case being 35k for a new truck :D

I know it's completely different, but the jeep I bought has a 4" suspension lift on it and at times even that feels ridiculous. I was hoping to get one stock or 2" max, but it was the only negative aspect of the jeep so I got it. You, without a doubt, notice it when you drive it. And if the handling doesn't remind you of it, the 12 mpg highway will

Honestly, I have no idea it will affect so much as you mentioned. How bad could it be? Any idea?

I want to take it offroad once in a while but want it as my daily commute ride, and mall parker. There I said it.

Sounds like you have some coin to play with. May want to include some 4.88's to help it move down the road.

    Rip off.

Discoverer AT3 are not expensive tires. They are the generic AT tire from Cooper. Good tires. But not high end ones. You can get ST Maxx for that price.

Why BDS?? And why so damn expensive??

And 10 HOURS for tire clearance labor on a 6" bracket lift?? Seriously?

Bring your rape whistle... you're gonna need it.

I've heard 35s are terrible with the new Tacomas. Look up some 255/85/16s. You can run these on the stock offroad wheels. They are 33s.

Consider talking with Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road about non-spacer options. You won't get 6 inches, but you'll get 2 or 3.

I can't imagine 35's on the Taco without a re-gear. Combined with the non existent low end torque, I don't even know if you'll be able to start rolling to get out of the mall parking lot to begin with

And OP I have nothing against you using your truck how you want it, if you want a mall cruiser that's fine, it really is. But I would heavily consider going that big of a lift on a daily driver/mostly mall cruiser with occasional offroad. At least try to find some people with lifted vehicles in that range to take you for a spin in. You can post in your region here to see if anyone will give you a ride for exchange of some beer or something. I know I would.

    1. Do some more research.
    2. Go buy some quality coilovers (King, ADS, Fox), some leafs, and some rear shocks to match the front. Your truck will go up 2-3" and you will gain ride quality not ruin your truck with a drop bracket lift.
    3. Get some 33" tires. If you ever choose to go 35's it is still possible but involves lots of clearancing.
    4. Meet some people, have a Mod day, help work on trucks, learn, and install your new parts for free.

This will save you money and your truck will perform significantly better than the route you are currently inquiring about.

Hourly rate seems okay to me. If you're charging out @$100/hr for engineering fees you're leaving money on the table (unless you're self employed). Most I deal with are $200+
