Also, is there something similar I could do to the rear or would I just have to buy either a blocks or an AAL?

Headstrong has a bundle with the blocks for the rear and some ext rear shocks I believe. But you can modify it to be an add a leaf or leaf pack instead and whatever rears you want. They will get you a quote all broken down so you can decide easier. If you want 3" or more of lift on a 2wd I don't know if there is a more cost efficient or better way to do it? Maybe someone else could chime in but this is how I spent my money for my prerunner.

A 4" spindle lift and a 1.5" progressive AAL is perfect for the Tacoma IMO. Take measurements of your truck to determine where YOU want it to be. We all have our own interpretations of what our trucks should look like.

Thanks, I just don't want the front to be higher than the rear and so if I want to maintain a more leveled look do you think getting 2-4" blocks with the 4" spindles would be best?

You would be paying too much. DownSouthMotorSports are $100 cheaper.

I'd love to see it. Low caster and high camber is what it will be. You and I both know that's not desirable, but I don't have to drive your truck so if you're happy with it

    Op has a 2gen so that's what I'm discussing.

The 2" blocks should level it I believe stock rear is 2" higher than front. The blocks are fine if you're on a budget and don't wheel your truck to hard. The aal will make you happy for a year or so until it sags on ya. The dakar or all pro leaf pack seem to be the consensus way to go if money is not the limit. This info is just based on my own research when deciding to lift my truck. Every truck is different and everyone is looking for somethin different from their truck. I just wanna pass on good info that was passed to me. Others will be willing to do the same im sure.

Okay thanks dirtbagtaco. Another question I have for anyone who previously lifted their truck or has any experience with it is, are UCA's required or would it be fine to get 5100's, EMU Coils, and AAL's and not use UCA's?

2.5 inches and under many members don't need UCA'S, some do. 3 inches it's pretty much a guarantee

Okay thanks, I found some ToyTec AAL's that give a 1.5-2" lift. I think they'd look nice with the 2.5" lift from the 5100's. I just managed to keep it at $599.97 so I'm still near my original price range but hope ToyTec doesn't kill me with shipping for those AAL's

Is this something where a professional install is recommended? I was planning on going up to my uncle's to install them with him because he's got a shop with a hydraulic lift and all the tools necessary. He's never worked on a truck before though and since I'm avoiding UCA's I don't know if it'd be smartest to install it with him. Any thoughts?

The ToyTec AAL's were 84.99 with $15.19 shipping so total they're 100.18, headstrong is 104.99 so just a 5 dollar difference really. Will probably go with headstrong just so I can expect it all at the same time.

You'll be happier with a 3 leaf progressive AAL than a single.

I had 5100s at 1.75 and the above mentioned pack and it was an excellent setup.

If you carry a constant load or use your truck REGULARLY for hauling/towing, then a single leaf AAL is best. If it's a people hauler, occasional tower/hauler (few times a year) and you want to look good, get a 3 leaf.

I wouldn't buy anything else if $500 was my budget for parts.

    5100s x4
    3 leaf progressive AAL

Install is easy, so less expensive to pay someone to install it and gives you the option to do it yourself with $20 worth of tools and an afternoon in your driveway. Rides great, looks good, and isn't pushing you outside of alignment specs so bad that you need to double your expenses with a set of UCAs.

Spindles don't compare at all to 5100s. It's almost double the max lift of a 5100, and you'll want new tires at minimum to avoid the look of being too tall on too small.

Spending more money on coils like OME and spending less on the rear AAL is counter intuitive. You won't notice any difference for the $200 you'll spend on coils, over stock coils at 1.75. You'll notice a stiff rear end every bump you drive over.

Okay, well I'm selling my wheels and my old chrome rear bumper and I'm trying to get around $600 from them. If I get the 600 dollars then I'll 100% get the 3 Leaf Progressive AAL. If I get around 400 dollars or so I'm still likely to get the progressive one, I just don't want to burn a hole through my wallet really. When it comes down to it though I think I'll just do whats best for my truck and get the 3 Leaf Progressive AAL.

Probably a stretch at both prices, but enjoy the build!
