most on this forum do not like pro comp kits or blocks.

looks like they leveled it with 3 inches in the front and 2 in the rear. the front needs new upper control arms, i'm quite sure the alignment is way off.

you can piece your own lift kit together for fairly cheap. bilstein 5100 w/ ome 888 springs in the front, new upper control arms SPC or JBA would be my preference, rear 3 leaf progressive AAL. Probably everything will run you about $2-2.5k

So, again, this is supposedly a "Pro-Comp, coil over" top tier lift. I drove this 2017 TRD Off Road in silver sky metallic back to back vs 2017 Tacoma Trd Pro on city streets and on highway and ran them over some rough dips, potholes and fast cornering. The silver TRD rode noticably nicer than the TRD Pro which surprised me.

I'm wondering how the dealer supplied "Pro Comp coil over" would compare to this kit:

Post in the AZ forum. There is a dealership that will get what you want installed with the purchase but I can't remember which dealership.

That king kit will shit all over that dealers lift and it's probably significantly cheaper than the dealers lift. I highly doubt the shitty procomp lift performed better than the fox shocks on the pro.

Also it will not void the warranty putting suspension on it, it only voids the parts that you replace. For example if the aftermarket shock fails, they're not going to cover it.

Honestly, it seems to me that you're trying to get mental reassurance by this forum to purchase the truck with the procomp lift.

How it would compare is that Kings would walk all over a ProComp lift and it's not even close.

I think bottom line is, regardless of how it rides, looks, etc. the dealership is charging far more than that lift is worth.

If you want to buy something with no hassle then spend the extra $$ from the dealership, but you can get something much more quality if you source parts yourself.

It's not just parts that you replace, it's also parts that are affected by parts you replace.

The dealership I go to for service informed me that it would only be the parts I replaced as long as it was under a certain amount of inches. I spoke to the service manager as well.

Not to say you're wrong, but I do believe it's based on the dealership.

I had a FBO 335i and would bring it to the dealership for warranty work and they never had an issue even though the modifications caused the excessive tear on the car. But was told by another dealership it wouldn't be covered.

If you can afford the mark-up that this dumb dealer is charging for this box of hot diarrhea they have slapped onto where a perfectly capable OEM suspension was; then you can afford to do it right. Guaranteed that the OEM stuff with the stock wheel and tire combo is more capable off road than whatever garbage Pro comp lift that is. They didn't even bother to get the correct length U-bolts in the rear- there is at least 2 inches of naked thread hanging under there. This is what happens when douchey salespeople that don't understand anything about suspension order a package deal from 4WP. Please do not buy this. Also Pro-Comp does not make anything "top-tier", their race trucks are using suspension components and shocks made by other manufacturers.

What are they charging for this "top tier Pro Comp coil over lift" and the tire and wheel package?

Are you also getting the stock parts too? If not I hope they're giving you credit for the cost of not getting them.

Lol, No. I'm the only reassurance I'm seeking is commentary on exactly how bad ($hitty) that lift really is. All of the constructive comments on here have settled it for me. I will simply buy a stock TRD OR and find a reputable local shop perform the work using top shelf components. Works for me. Thank you to all who contributed to this dealer smackdown.

Try Riverview Toyota. Salesman is a member on here I believe. I believe they send their trucks to sdhq for builds.

That's junk. Crappy lift. Look at that shitty U-bolt install. Total crap. If you want SDHQ to install an Icon lift go buy the truck at riverview.

If I wasn't expecting a visit from the stork on Wednesday id tell you to bring the truck over to my house and id help you install one. If you can wait a couple months I can help you. I have everything needed...

Just buy your 2017 Offroad, put 255/85/16s on the stock wheels, and get on some trails and enjoy. You can get the 33" Toyo's you want, and spend the money you'll save on buying and installing suspension on gas to go wheel. The link in smitty's signature will try to tell you the max size for a third gen with no suspension is 265/75s (which are like 31.5"), and I wish that would get updated with a note that the OR suspension can fit 255/85s out of the box, with at MOST requiring a mudflap removal, but OP is nonresponsive.

See loads of empirical evidence that you can get 33's on the stock 3rd gen OR suspension HERE, which is full of people who, you know, have actually done it. Or you can spend a bunch of money you don't need to. Your call.

    12.5" isn't that closer to a 315?

At that size you'll definitely need to do cutting and bashing.

If you want a 33 that requires minimal mods to fit the 255 option is best. or the 285, which is just a CMC.
But getting into a 305 or 315, you're getting into bashing the pinch weld.
