On my way to Chipotle for lunch today ( ;) @mach1man001 ) in Westford I passed a 3rd gen going the other way with the same NFab light bar and square lights on it. He also had the NFab bumper bar with 4 more square lights on it haha. Gave me a thumbs up and a wave as we passed. :fistbump:

Reading up about the wookie strength carrier bearing...

Edit - I'm thinking about going with the Inland Empire Carrier bearing and seeing if I can get it to work. Going to crawl under the truck next week to take a look.

According to this thread the stock height mounting position for the DCSB would be raised up from the normal mounting surface however since I'm lifted I should be able to just mount it to the lowest mounting point and it'll act like a CB drop kit... if I'm reading the photo correctly...

It's solid mounted, so if slight vibrations annoy you, it's not a good idea. You'll feel very slight driveline vibration that the rubber around the current carrier bearing absorbs. I'm sure it's much stronger and having a grease fitting will make it last longer but who knows how bad the vibrations would be.

That's awesome! I wish that solution existed when I still had my Tacoma! I like that it keeps the carrier in relatively th same spot. I did some reading abut dropping the cb and there are some compelling reasons why you shouldn't unless you're really lifted a lot. The reading I did actually lead you to slightly raising it a bit to get rid of vibrations.

Thanks for all the input! I will go through it and work on it in the spring. The Vette is on that side so it's not pressing and the small human is slowing my output.

What is the best way to chip out the concrete? I don't have anything that will really work so it would be a HF trip regardless.

I did get the wiring run for my powered sub today, I just need to do the terminations and securing.

I ran my CB antenna wire for future work. It's going to kill me to power it with an add-a-fuse but since I don't have an aux fuse panel yet. I just have to decide which circuit to grab. I have a brilliant idea of how to integrate it into the truck.

Do yourself a favor at the same time and pull your drums off and clean them up while you're at it. Then make sure they're adjusted right. Mine weren't and that made a big difference in braking for me.

For chipping concrete, you can use a good ole fashioned masonry chisel and a maul or a chipping gun. It's easy to get carried away with a chipping gun though. For the little pit you'll be doing, a chisel will work just fine. You're not trying to out a lot of material.

Welp - it isn't the carrier bearing - it's a small pinhole leak at the top of the super rusty exhaust.... But I have a ton of play in the DS Carrier bearing so I might order one just in case....

Super excited for the yota run - might be my last run for the year with my work travel schedule.

Normally my go to is C4... but seeing as though you want the rest of the building to survive I have heard good things about demo hammers. Plus its fun to use... not this particular brand but I have used a makita and it was great.

Like I said, the rubber around those bearings are sloppy on a good day. When I still had mine, I pumped RTV into the rubber (the rubber is hollow) to try to stiffen it up a bit and it did help some. The rubber around the Dorman bearing was significantly more rigid and all of my vibrations went away, the bearing itself was just garbage. When I went back to OEM, my vibrations came back but the bearing itself was much better quality.
Haha, demo hammers are a lot of fun, but very easy to get carried away with. They can do a lot of damage in a very, very, very short amount of time.

Demo hammers are a good time, most of the time. We occasionally had to use them when I did seamless epoxy floors
