3 inch lift

what's the best 3 inch lift can I get for a reasonable price? I don't want my lift to effect the smoothness of my ride and shock absorbtion.

 

I would stick with a 2" lift and then add a tire size that will give you another inch for a total of three. If you want to keep the ride as close to stock I have no complaints with the Boss 2.0. on mines. $.02

 

what happens with 3" or above that a 2" will prevent?

Staying as close to stock height is best as this will give you the most reliability and durability of all driveline components.

 

In theory, yes. Keeping the drive line angles closest to where they were designed to run will help with longevity sake. I don't think there's actual data out there to support it, though.
