    Hey guys,

I drive a 2.7L 2008 MT. Just started my truck up and when shifting into first gear, I noticed it felt like it didn't completley engage. The truck drives while it feels like this. I tried shifting into all other gears and Reverse, but every one (excluding 3rd gear) I could shift into no problem. The only ones that feel like they are not engaging all the way are 1 and 3, but 3 engages a little better than 1.

    Any ideas?

Umm you'd hear some awful grinding noise if you didn't get the truck in gear.

When was the last time you changed the transmission gear oil?

I am overdue for the gear oil. Would that only affect certain gears though?

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/4-cylinder/37648-complete-30k-maintenance.html#post612841

I had that issue (difficulty going into 1st gear) and I did the 60k maintenance and I put Mobil 1 synthetic. After 5-6,000 miles I had issues getting the truck into 1st gear and 3rd gear again. I changed out early to regular Lucas gear oil and it improved, but will change out again at 90,000 miles.

There's lots of talk of Redline MT90, which I need to mail order and am rarely home to receive.
