    Okay thank you for your help. Yeah boot was already ripped before it broke and then this all happened so I'm agreeing and think it's cv axle I need to replace. I'm going to get the stuff for it today, hopefully Napa has everything and then going to start wrenching

    ...too much shit to list.
    It's not the ripped boot that gives it away. It's the fact that the joint is completely malformed when the wheel is turned. You most likely broke the cage and spit out one of the ball bearings. Since the boot is ripped anyway, cut the boot off and look at the joint.

    I put a NAPA CV on my truck the other day cuz i tore a boot (thru my own dumbassery) Napa CVs actually have a softer feeling boot than OEM which leads me to believe the boot will hold up better to lifted applications.
