Does anyone have this gap in the front bumper?

That'd suck if it falls off and then you get a ticket for not having your front plate........

 

The front plate look it's holding it on!

 

hopefully..........figured the whole plate mount was mounted to the piece coming off tho.

 

Damnit, after reading this now I have to go check out my bumper. Sometimes TW sucks.

 

FWIW - I hate the color matched lip on my sport. I looked into pulling it off to derp or replace with the black OR lip. There's about 15 plastic retention clips to press on to release plus a few with retention pins preventing them from pulling out. See here. Maybe they just need to be pushed back into place.

I've got a little gap, enough to see the clip that supposed to hold in it.

Doesn't bother me too much. I just kind of push it in when I wash the truck and it seems to hold for awhile.

Yeah, losing the plate is the only thing I'm at all worried about (not actually worried). But it's been like that for a few thousand miles and doesn't seem to be getting worse. It's been through the car wash a couple times and stayed on so it seems fine. Even with that huge gap I don't think anyone notices but me. Part of why I love having a truck. Scratches? Dents and dings? Trim falling off? I just laugh. "It's a truck."

 

Go to a public auction in Houston area, I'm sure you can find several..........just tell them Harvey sent you.

This is what I hear when people say "just a truck"........my old 82 with 500k + miles on it......except it has nothing falling off of it.

The front lip does shake alittle like its not held on very well, but its on and not falling off. My truck is a year newer then my wifes Lexus, but the lexus has better fit and finish but still a shit load of plastic parts. I take care of my vehicles, but since this is a truck, I try not to be as anal as with the Lexi.

EDIT: I also drive a Dodge Caravan C/V for my work van, talk about cheap plastics and poor fit and finish. Doors dont line up, parts falling off or cracking, squeaks and noises from all over the interior. I would never buy one for my personal use....And I take very good care of my work van, considering its not mine...

 

I just cut mine off a few weeks ago, and removed the center insert via two blue plastic retainers holding it securely to bumper cover. Perhaps it is worth a look to make sure everything is as it should be? I can see it flopping around a little without those in place.
