Check out the early few post in my build. I went through phases... plasti dip, gloss black satoshi, color matched satoshi.

Also that DupliColor clear will probably start turning yellow. I'd use a can a 2k clear coat. It uses a hardener, catalyst or activator like professionals use. Once it hardens it is much less susceptible to damage from chemicals, weather and UV rays. Worth the $20 can.

I’m not a fan of the black bumpers and fender flares.

I did plastidip the front grill insert to cover up the out of place “pewter” color of the grill that doesn’t match anything else on the truck! I like the way it turned out.

Ordered some black headlights as well that should tie it all together.

I’d say go for it though. One thing with plastidip, the thicker you put it on, the easier it will be to remove later if you get tired of it or it gets chipped.

Another note, when I got my truck the guy had plastered carbon fiber dash stickers on all the plastic. I hated that. I went to peel it off and found that he had superglued half of them. Taking off the super glue ended up causing all kinds of scratches and discoloration to the factory dash pieces. So, I ended up plastidipping the affected pieces and am pretty satisfied with that too for the time being.

Overall, plastidip is good stuff! The only prep I did was good cleaning and a light scotch pad scrub. I did spray everything flat black first and didnkind of a “rough” texture with the flat black to help give the plastidip something to cling to, and so that if it gets scratched or peels, it’s black underneath....
