Sounds like a regional thing, 3,500 potential units of a non factory? Install.

It says 2011-2016 and installed by SET not the factory. Nothing to worry about on your’s.

SET is South East Toyota, so a dealer option vs a factory installed part.

Yup! And only 3,500 units over a five year period, a tiny drop in the Taco bucket!

No wait.. wait.... my hood scoop flew off seven times yesterday and it's OEM... honest!

Do you know the shame of having to pull over and reattach the scoop using nothing but duct tape and chewing gum? My BMW hood scoop never flew off...

I wouldn't be so much concerned about the detached scoop becoming a road hazard, as I would about the sudden and massive drop in engine horsepower without the scoop!!! Might send you through the windshield.

Not to sound like an asshole but you do read the stuff you post right?

It even says the scoops were installed by SET dealers.

i did notice on my non SET/GST sport hood scoop it flexed more than i thought it should. weeks later after it kept bugging me, i pushed a little harder on the flexing part of the leading edge of the hood scoop and it snapped back into place. now it doesnt flex with a push of a finger.

Heck no! We can't have TRD Sport trims looking like TRD Off-Roads? You people need to get this checked out and fixed. Keep your faux hoods scoops on! LOL

If you have a factory hood scoop your fine. If you have a hood scoop from the dealer with 2 sided tape holding it to the hood. Take it back.
