Someone near me is selling some sweet rock sliders off her double cab 1st gen for $175. She said they are 79 in. long, which, from my measurements is the same length of the rocker panel + bed before rear tire on my Extra cab. My main concern is that the pinch weld under the cab hangs down almost an inch lower than the bottom of the bed.

How are people welding straight rock sliders to on extended cabs? Any insights on if you think the double cab ones will work?

black yota has the sliders I want, white one is mine

(notice the pinch weld below the cab)

They are indeed the correct size for your XtraCab; you'd better GRAB EM FAST! I just installed my CBI Sliders on my XtraCab, and they are the same model that they sell for the DoubleCab.

some people trim the pinch weld so they can get the sliders closer to the rocker... I didn't and mounted mine a bit lower

I'll try to remember to get one. If I did it again I probably still wouldn't trim. I would rather have that much extra clearance in case I come down hard on a slider. I actually dropped my truck off a ledge and the slider flexed into the pinch weld, which is preferable to it hitting the rocker IMO and also meant that my door would still open

I had BAMF bolt on sliders on my double cab. My bro in law and I installed them.

Pros - they can be removed for a number of reasons (repaint, sell, install on another truck, etc.).

Cons - drilling through the frame was a pain and they don't feel as solid as welding them on.

Pics of BAMF sliders bolted onto my previous dc can be found here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-2nd-02-taco.424445/

Pics of the Beefed Taco (previous set of sliders) and BAMF sliders (current set) welded on can be found here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/synergy10s-02-extra-cab-build.287417/
