Sorry Dalandser meant to quote Babes just letting him know pictures were on the first page. (Haven't replaced or tried to fix mine yet)

Alright, yeah, I wouldn't expect PVC to be good for that - @mechanicjon has a nice custom setup between the airbox and the throttle body.

Considering that PVC is used for the intakes and exhausts of pretty much all modern day 90% and higher furnaces and most power vent water heaters, I seriously doubt PVC on a Taco intake is going to be in any way, shape or form, a noxious fume hazard.

@200kAndCounting that honestly looks like the 95-98 V6 airbox/MAF (MAS w/e you call it)

K&N kit fits 99-04 (I had one) so that's really odd for that style MAF to be used on a 2k

ac system was already weak, my drill bit made it worst by puncturing the condensor. So....I guess I'll be doing maintenance.

I sold my factory box because I bought a dumb aftermarket air box and intake. I soon wanted to go back to the stock box and ended up buying an aftermarket on like the stock one and it was junk. The lid doesn't close tight and the lip of the box is slightly warped and gets my air filter dirty much faster. Not sure if I just got a lemon or if this has been others experience. I would try to find a used OEM one if possible.

Must have had a typo somewhere in all the post. Mine is a 98, so your are correct that is the older style for my model. Apparently I've just been finding the newwer style when trying to buy a new box.
