    I was telling him in an earlier post, the nursing homes around here a lot of the girls were meth users. (This was in the late 90’s early 00’s).

    Some people have gotten brand new differentials, and they still howl. It’s kind of a hit and a miss with the dealerships, some get new gaskets. Some dealers don’t/won’t do anything. This isn’t just a 3rd gen issue apparently, I’ve read guys with second gens that had the howl for 100k+ miles, and nothing ever broke. I’ve also read some that have broke.

    Yeah. It sounds like its just a setup issue with the R&P, if it's out enough it blows up, if it's just barely within spec its noisy

    Mine's torqued correctly (at least the outside bolts that can be checked) and there are no leaks, apparently a little noise isn't enough to fulfill the requirements of the recall.

    It should be covered under power train if it does eventually go, I'm gonna try to get an extended warranty though just for peace of mind.
