Based on the pics from Texas I don't think there are any changes with the tail lights. I think the led rumor was started as an assumption before we had any facts. I don't remember seeing any evidence of changed tails.

Good point. I looked through all the docs and I don't see any "real" reference to them. I'll remove them until we have some evidence.

If TRD OR and Sport are available with leather, what's the purpose of the Limited? Different wheels? Or it's effectively the Sport with the OR hood?

Would have liked the Toyota Safety Sense - for no other reason than having more gadgets. Well the radar cruise control would've been nice.

When you say all models will have TSS, do you mean as an option or standard?

Interesting. Personally, I don't care for most of the features but they do lower insurance premiums.

Chrome? Despite how most of us feel here, I think many real world people still like chrome.

Perhaps that's where they get the "limited" from...potential buyers. IMHO Pro is the only truly "limited" model.

Right... I never really understood why manufacturers called them "Limited"
I like how Jeep went the other way with Unlimited

The thing I'm curious about is if the "power back window" still means just the sliding glass, or if they added the roll down window like the 4runner/Tundra CM. That'd be dope if it was the entire glass, but not likely.

Same as the 2017 electric slider. Not a full window. I agree, full roll would be nice.

based on this link, it looks like the technology package is for off road and sport, no?
also, sorry for the ignorance. what do OF, PQ, C-cab, and D-cab stand for/mean?

C cab is the access cab. And D cab is four door, AKA double cab or crew cab.

OF and PQ are just internal codes to denote packages.

So it's possible to say, I picked up a 2018 MGM Tacoma TRD OR DCSB OF. And you could essentially figure out exactly what my truck is.

I spoke with a dealer in Seattle, looking for a DCSB OR Manual and he showed 5 being allocated to the NW region (everywhere from Seattle to Montana to Oregon) production mid-November, delivery early December. All five were standard colors, black, white, blue, quicksand and gun metal. All had technology but no premium package. I told him I'm looking for a TRD OR DCSB Manual with Prem/Tech and he said that would be hard to find because he didn't think they'd produce many manuals and probably not with the Premium package.

He's just one guy and I'll look to check another dealer or two this weekend. Also, he didn't know cement was coming to the TRD OR, but I told him and he wrote me the next day and said, "Turns out you're right."

This will be my first truck and I've been stalking Tacoma's for some time now, so any advice on how to get the one I want, even if it means waiting, would be greatly appreciated.

Nope. You have to use a physical key to lock the tailgate. Some middleman toyota vendors like GST may have an aftermarket solution installed prior to the truck hitting the dealerships, but toyota themselves have not offered it. Its one of those things that make you wonder if the R&D team has ever actually used a truck on a daily basis.
