billy's up front, 5100 adjustable shocks

Hello,

For my new 09 Prerunner DC SB, I've decided to go and get the 5100's on all four corners, thanks to the advice on this forum. I've measured the front and back heights and there is a 2" difference (rear being higher) from wheel to top of wheel well. So I'm going to just have the front set to 1.75", besides an alignment, what else do I need to have done? Thanks in advance.

do an alignment, and you will be good to go!!!! i love my billy 5100's!!! awesome ride to them!!

 

Some would recomend a diff drop. Others say you don't need it if you are going up 3" or less.

Right right! Without the front diff, I avoid some added expenses! And thanks to your encouragement, I'll be ordering these spring from Wheelers this week! Then it'll be new tires and rims... Then the exhaust, when does it all stop...???

hey man...get the 5100's from ebay for cheaper thru downsouthmotorsports.......sonny is great to work with. make a reasonable offer on the shocks, and i guarantee you he'll deal!!!! just a heads up!!

 

im doing the same thing. my quesation would be, what are the largest size tires fit on factory rims the can be run with minimal contact on the 1.85" setting

 

if you have the 16's.....265/75/16 is about the biggest you can go without rubbing, otherwise, you' need a 3 inch lift to fit something like 285's, and you'd probably still need to loose the front flaps and doa bit of trimming for no rubbing with 285's.

 

just orderd mine from downsouthmotorsports on ebay, going to have the dealer install them when they do my tsb for the rear suspension. Wont have to pay for an alingment then. Cant wait to drive my truck with these. I hear nothing but good things.

 

Any one have before and after pics.. I am curious about the height of the truck change.

height change with the 5100's?? you can set them on the "stock" setting as well as level out the truck. im sure someone will have pics.........check out this thread.......pics inside......

seen the TSB difference, got it done on my sr5.. I'm curious about these 5100's though..

As soon as i get the 5100's the dealer is installing them and my springs. Ill post many pics.

 

I have the 5100's right now and they are GREAT. Nice look as is, but I want 285s and therefore need the full 3". I am trying to decide between the toytec coilover conversion or just the toytec spring lift. Any input?

 

since you already have the 5100's....i think i'd go for the coilover conversion kit. they look like they would be awesome, and way better than a coil spacer, as i think you can adjust with the coil conversion. just my thought tho.

 

Sounds like the 5100's are the way to go! I'm waiting to here back on the add-a-leafs for the rear as I don't want to do a block and also don't want to raise it more than an inch. We'll see if I can find a 1" lift with a add-a-leaf out there... Good to see so many responses!
