Does thes dakars look correct ?

I put on 2 95 series dakars...crappy flat, just adding a AAL would have been better for me. Thoughts on this pic?

These trucks have a flat leaf, even with aftermarket leaf pack. I'll try to get a pic of my Dakars later today.

 

Do you have a topper or/and stuff in the bed? I was thinking I might need to add another leaf to my OME pack, but I have the older packs that are more equivalent I think to the current heavy duty EL096R.

Arent the 95 series dakars the lighter duty packs? Ive been considering these. Apparently they offer 2.75 inches of lift without any weight in the bed. What are your measurements from center of hub to the bottom of the fender flares? @Dacapster

 

Possibly over torqued at 85 inlb? Yes -very rarely carry +300 lbs so I got the lighter packs- 25 1/4 inches center to fender.

 

Torque to 85 ft-lb isn't excessive. The book says 37 ft-lb but mostly everyone thinks that's a typo. It's either supposed to be 73 ft-lb or something like that.

Greater than 25" sounds fine, mine are right about 24" center to lip with a camper shell and a bunch of junk back there.

I don't have the original measurement but they will settle a bit. They sure do look odd, though, like they are slightly in recurve.

 

Have you driven it since the install? They can look funky right off the jack stands.

 

Mine look weird too. Had them on a few months now and no performance issues, just really funky looking

 

Kind of looks like you have the W curve going on. I noticed that i have that also when I'm parked on an incline, like my driveway. Recheck on a flat surface?

 

Ive got AT2's too, it hurts a bit every time one of those pebbles lodged in the tread flies out and hits the body lol

 

I could not agree more haha! When I installed my sliders and had to dig around the edges of the frame I found them completely full of gravel lol

Op, where did you purchase them from? Maybe get with them. Your after lift height is in the ballpark but damn the pack looks flat.
There are a couple good threads in here that discuss the "new" Dakar packs in detail and all the pics I've seen don't reflect what I'm seeing here.
I've got some 96's waiting to be installed and when they are and if they looked like that I would be giving my vender a call.

I bought my stuff from @HeadStrong Off-Road, a reputable vendor, and I've spoken with ARB and they confirmed the packs sit with a wavy appearance at the axle. I can't say I've loaded my truck down since adding these and since I'm running HDs they may look quite different when they're near weight capacity. I know I went from 1.5" lift to 3.5" lift in the rear, and that's with a cap

You guys are getting lift but they look weird, so that's the rub, isn't it? OME springs have never been perfectly curved though. They seem to have a flat area over the spring perch that I believe is intentionally put in to minimize the stress you'd put on them pulling them flat with the u-bolts. I dunno, if Headstrong and ARB both think it's OK then I probably wouldn't worry too much.

 

Thanks for the info guys. It's gonna keep me from freaking out after I install them. I'm very curious how these packs are going to perform under load.
On an off topic, have either of you experienced any vibrations after install?
