Let me ask you, when you changed the fluid in your 6MT, did it take more than 2 qts or less? I know the manual calls for 1.9 qts, just wondering if it does indeed come out to 2 or less.

Haven't done it in this truck yet, but yes its 2qts. If your worried about it buy 3 qts.

    Help!!!

I'm new to changing tranny fluid, I think I just fill the T-case, thinking it was the tranny--Maybe thats why it over flowed after 1 qt. Tranny I read is just ahead and then Ive got the front differential. I'm using 75-90 synthetic. Anyone got images or description of locations of fill and drain plugs.

Please feel free to flame me, I just need the info !!!Leaving in the afternos and towing a small camper.

    Thanks for any help.
You guys run a great forum.

    This is your transfer case.

As long as you didn't drain the transmission and add fluid to the transfer case you will be fine. Doesn't sound like you did as you only got a quart in there, which wouldn't be possible if the transfer was already full.

If you have an automatic transmission this is the drain plug for it.

In the morning I can post up a picture, not taken from another thread, of the manual trans for you.

Does the 5 speed manual use the same fluid as the 6 speed?

That is part of the reason why I have been recommending the GM12346190.

I rolled 109,000 yesterday in my 4WD 2008 Tacoma 4 cyl 5sp manual. I am interested in this thread and completing this work prior to the rotten cold and sloppy snow.
