My 2016 trd off road make the exact same noise as the first video when I go over water bars on dirt roads. Not every time but most times. It also happens on speed bumps on road, I got it to do it in the dealership parking lot and they said they would "address it" of course nothing was fixed. Never take your truck to Freeman Toyota in California.

I believe it sounds like thin metal clacking, not a major component hitting. Brake shield? Skid plate? Something like that. Glad to see if not the only one with this issue!!

Has anyone had major component failure after hearing this? That's what has me worried when I'm 100 miles from anywhere with no cell service by myself and hear it on each bump.

Like many of you, I have the same "clunk" noise from the front end. Dealer of course couldnt replicate. The brake pads make sense since the clunk sound happened the other day when I backed in, parked and let off the brakes. Is the glue the only "fix"?

Happens to me even with the brake pedal pressed, so I don't think that is it. Need to look into the brake shield though.

I have the same issue as the first video as well. It is hard to recreate though, even if i hit the same bump at the same speed.

The one you've heard is bad. But has already helped me out no questions asked.

Currently on the phone with the service advisor. They are going to replace both front mounts and see what happens. I'll report back tomorrow once I get my truck back.

My 16 Sport made the same noise. I think I had read somewhere it was either shocks or spring perch or tophat or something in the strut. I recently went to Bilstein 5100s and the noise went away. A shop had to swap the springs over because my spring compressor didn't fit the springs, so I couldn't tell you if there was anything funky in the way the spring was seated or not.

My guess could also be totally wrong if the added damping from the 5100s compared to stock shocks is preventing the real culprit from making the noise.

    Most definitely not the sound.

Here is a quick vid I took when leaving the dealership last week after they told me they couldn’t find it

I also have pretty much the same or similar noise to the first video.

My noise started up not too long after I installed some camburg ball joint upper control arms and Fox 2.5 coil overs, around 12-13k miles. I feel it in the drivers floor under my feet, and slightly hear it. My noise is over rougher roads with expansion joints over a certain width at speeds of 30-60 mph, and also random bumps. I get to hear and feel the noise hundreds of times a day.

The part that I do not understand is it will knock on, and after speed bumps. As an example, front tires on speed bump(knock), rear tire on speed bump(knock), both tires off speed bumps and there is usually a knock and a lighter knock when both tires are on flat ground.

    Since it occured soon after coilovers;
-the entire front end that I touched was nut and bolted, twice
-Lower control arm bushings were released and retorqued on flat ground
-skid plate and sway bar were removed
-Poly bushings got Superlube to the max, then the bushing grease pressure was released
-ball joint got grease before and during install
-Additional torque was added to the lower control arm bushings
-Body mount under driver side floor was inspected and
    retorqued

The coilovers are the extended travel model, and only at the factory preload on the passenger side, and probably an extra half inch above factory on the driver side, so I have a hard time believing they are suspect but its possible.

My current plan is to have the dealer inspect it during my upcoming 20k mile service. Its annoying enough that I am willing to pay thru the nose to fix it if its something not covered under warranty.

Mine has happened since brand new (stock suspension) and King suspension so I don’t believe it is suspension related in my case.

I as of yet do not have the noise you are talking about when offroading but my axles do make that rattling sound which is from the play in them and that seems to be normal and of no concern.

Something sounds lose. This is different than the clunk a lot of people report. I have no heard anything like this before.

Positive its not something in the engine bay? ABS brake lines are secured to the spindle and UCA? Swaybar tight?

Consensus is front body mounts, even on a brand new truck. I'll be checking that out, along with anything else that could be loose up front.

That is what took away most of my clicking sound like in the first video. I still get it over large hits but rarely
