I've had both KO2's and Duratracs on work trucks and they pretty much perform the same in my opinion. Can't go wrong with either.

I'd say just go with whichever is the cheapest :p I can't comment on the other tires though, never tried them.

You can do that with a 265/70R16 KO2. It’s the stock size tire no problem. I’m just not a KO2 fan. They like to grab every Little Rock on the ground and either sling it or it gets stuck in your tire. You’ll pick out 2-3 rocks a day out of your tires.

I’d say go with the STT Max or the STT Pro 265/75R16. You definitely don’t want a 6ply tire. Unless you like to replace tires a lot.

I ran Cooper ST Maxx on my 2013 Baja and got a consistent 19.5 on hwy unless driving at 75+. 265/75/16 10 plys. I got around 20.3 on BFG ATs in load D 265/70/16 so it did drop some.

I will also add that 255/85r16 is a great tire size. Tall and skinny all the way. You won’t regret it.

+1 for Duratracs. On my 2nd set. Didn’t notice them getting louder as they wore down. Good for all conditions you mentioned.

How many miles is everyone in here getting out of a set of Cooper ST Maxx's? I've been considering a set of these myself whenever mine wear down

KO2s worked great for me in the snow when I lived in the PNW. Running Dick Cepek Extreme Countrys now and they are pretty loud on the road, doesn't snow where I live now so can't speak on that.

If I didn’t find the Rock Warriors on Craigslist I would have got the 4Runner Pro wheels as well, they are even a little lighter than my setup.

Some people don’t like “tall and skinny!” I think it looks really ugly, but to each their own.

@cdubray here is a great write up for the performance benefits of the “pizza cutter” which is worth the read.

The looks aside, a skinnier tire provides less rolling resistance, less weight for a comparably tall tire which is wider, a longer contact patch when aired down istead of a wider and shorter contact patch of a wider tire (think tank track as opposed to a steam roller) less wind resistance, as well as resistance moving through mud, sand or snow. Not to mention less fitment problems and rubbing you would run into with a wider tire.

Also it looks better :anonymous: and the st maxx comes in that size. So do the Duratracs if I’m not mistaken.

I dont think duratracs (DT's) do, unless its a new size for them. I had duratracs in 265/75/16 before these 255's, and would have done DT's again if they did. DT's perform very well.
