Which amp model did you get?

 

The only one he makes that's direct swap is a 240amp "6 phase" (no such thing as 6 phase, its actually a dual 3 phase). Reason for going with mechman is he has one of the only 2 year warranty I've seen besides another company that makes "indestructible" alternators starting at $851. I'm sure he has other custom options available but his web site has just the 240amp for the 2nd gen.

That’s American I’m sure. Pricey. Be sure to mess with your voltage sensing wire to get max amps. I changed the fuse and was able to get 14.6v out of the stock at idle instead of 13.5v. Again volts to amps and what not but still.

 

Decided when the truck is paid off (next November) I'm going to purchase the flatbed and canopy. I've been cursing everytime I have to grab tools. @taczilla was right.... I did need a trailer. Picked up an all aluminum 5x8 utility trailer with a fold in or out ramp, diamond plate sided with tongue tool box for $1600. Buddy showed me his receipt for $3400 from action trailer in London. I have yet to take it off the truck, insane how much I've used it.

 

Yup. $523 PayPal CAD. There's cheaper alternatives but none with a 2 year warranty. Any links to the volt sensing wire/fuse mod? I've seen a few people mention these Oem upgraded high output alternators but they're just rebuild. Mechman uses all new parts.

 

I know shit about alternator at a granular level...but, I had to procure one for a 2006 sea dood...for a friend but I digress. Found this cat just north of Brampton who builds alts/starters etc out of his shop in his back yard. Anything custom, this guy could wire. Ima look for his connection attributes

I am picking my bed up tomorrow. So far so good with the company. They also have a cap that’s pretty sweet. I’m getting that one as the new camping setup.
