Are these D rings backed with metal, or just the composite plastic bed material?
If just the composite, any clue what the load rating would be?

Can someone take a picture of the '18 Pro front grill radar location? I want to see what is used to cover up the radar sensor.

It looks like a thin piece of plexiglass. I wonder how it's held in position.

Is the sensor on the Pro grill lower than on the OR grill? I would like to put a Fab Fours Vengeance front bumper with a pre-runner guard on an '18 OR with a Pro grill. The way it looks to me is that the pre-runner guard would go right in front of the sensor on an '18 OR.

Good question.......mount your brush guard, and then get sent though the windshield on the way out of the garage when the TSS system slams on the brakes. Ugggh

And there’s this from a newer thread. It actually looks like it'll be a "different" part number for 2018 being that it's more flat where the radar goes.

That bumper looks sick. Any side shots of that on a Tacoma?

I've been scouring, but I haven't found any great shots. Here's one from there website and one non Taco side shot, which gives some idea.

I followed hour link and that thread took me to another link where a TW member installed the Pro grill on his '18 OR and everything bolted right in and worked.

Yeah, the radar will bolt to the '17 grille but the front part of the it looks a little different where the radar is. I like what @jtvitangcol did with his grille way better than this. It just looks strange with the middle part of the grille missing and a big piece of clear plastic there.

Maybe old news, but this page shows the new grille on every available color.

I think after running with these for a while Toyota figured out that the radar sensor can get glitchy and not function 100% if it gets crud, salt, dirt, grime etc caked into the old style grille holes. I imagine this new (and not visually appealing) style of insert is 'the way it is" for ease of user cleaning. I think with the old style as long as you do a pre-flight check to make sure there isn't a bunch of crap all over it you'll be fine. I'm going to be running a pro grille with my 2018 when I get it, I guess I'll find out first hand how well it actually works.

Do you have your '18 Tacoma? Mine will be in mid Dec and I'm thinking about ordering the grill.
