I wanted some feedback. I have stock off road tires and rims with an insurance plan on them. Should I buy a new set of rims and tires to not void my insurance or should I just wrap new ko2 on the stock rims? (Went offroading last week and got stuck in some slick Florida mud)

Pretty sure you need 12" lift and 33's to fit in as a Florida truck.

Best investent would be some better tires. P-rated tires (factory) have very weak tread and sidewalls and are more prone to pucture. C-Rated gives you a tougher tire, but without the weight or an E-Rated tire. I'd keep the stock wheels to save some coin.

Tire insurance doesn't help when you're stuck and have to pay $400 for an offroad tow company to get you out.

    Welcome!

Personally I wouldn’t go through the headache of multiple wheel/tire setups for an AT tire. If you are going to do that I’d go a full aggressive MT. But I wouldn’t worry about having 2 sets of tires to keep the tire insurance, I’d get what you like.

Check this out to make an informed decision when upgrading tires:

    Is the insurance transferable?
Regardless, if it was me, it would not be a factor if I wanted new tires.

FWIW, KO2s are still an A/T tire and are not the best in mud, the C tread design sometimes prevents the tire from cleaning. It will just turn into a racing slick and while it looks more aggressive, may not perform better than the stock tires.

That said, for offroading purposes, I recommend a M/T tire as it will outperform an A/T in every category except, hardpack snow/ice and pavement.

It's basically a plan in which if my tires get damaged, they'll be replaced. I have six years with this plan.

I might just go with some mud tires, everywhere it's muddy and I'll need the tread and surface area. My friends all terrains turn into racing tires when he goes out and got stuck last week. Thanks for the info guys

Your load rating has nothing to do with your sidewalls being more puncture resistant.

Yes, my post was to get to the point in a single sentence. The stronger construction of an LT tire is much more suited for off road as compared to a P-rated tire.

Why not go with an aggressive AT tire? Like a Duratrac or STT Pros?
