So you're saying I should go discs in back? :D
Also this truck doesn't seem to have air injection like you said...

Do you remember doing this? If so do you have anymore pictures, specifically where the traction bar mounts to the axle?

Ill have to dig for some pics, but it mounts to a custom plate that I built that has the mount for the axle that goes under the leaf springs, I still have my original one that I made for myself back in 2007! And I have 400rwhp, still works great, really helps with axle hop, I have absolutely none whatsoever.

@Torspd I just got a quote back from an extrude honing shop for the 5VZ manifold, just for fun to see what they wanted.

$750! Probably worth that price in labor and what not, but that price ain't worth the HP I'll gain lol

EDIT: Not a bad price comparing them to other companies, I'd assume just the lower intake from the 1GR would be pretty cheap

As in a forward facing manifold? I'd assume no since the 5vz manifold faces the left

Here is the recent suspension re-work that I did that I sorta regret doing...

This truck will be for sale soon. I've reached the end of the amount of money I want to dump into it and I'm ready for something new.

Below are some detailed pictures of the front end suspension rebuild that included: Bilstein 4600's, new top hats, new upper and lower control arm bushings, new sway bar end links and bushings, new power steering rack boots, new rack and pinion endlinks, new upper ball joints (OEM design with nylon seat), new OEM revised lower ball joints, new power steering rack bushings and new cab mounts all the way around and maybe some other stuff I may have left out.

TLDR: The whole dang suspension has been rebuilt. Literally all of it. Everything was replaced with polyurethane if possible, and greased heavily.

Important to note that these are revised OEM lower ball joints.
    IMG_20180131_165922157.jpg

I also replaced the factory overload spring with a Icon three leaf AAL in an attempt to cure my wheel hop. It didn't work. Although it gave the truck a little bit of rake so that's neat I guess, better than the rear being 1" lower than the front.
    IMG_20180131_170042126_HDR.jpg

Here's some proof I got it aligned.
The alignment dude said it aligned perfectly, and hey, I guess it did.
    IMG_20171113_151647996.jpg

I'll post some full pictures of the truck in daylight not disassembled in a separate thread. I guess I should also say this thing handles great. It ain't no marshmallow, but that's ok, because the truck lets you know you're alive.

This is the for sale thread but I will post it here too.

For sale is my 1999 Tacoma Prerunner SR5 V6 with a turbo ~ ooohhhhhh.

    Miles: 183,xxx
    Transmission: A340E
    Drive: 2wd 4x2
    Year:1999
    Title: Clean
Fast: Yes, it'll whoop your average 2000's V6 Mustang driver or the guy at work that thinks his Civic Si is fast.

No offense to Civic Si drivers. The Si is cool.

For an in depth look at what has happened to the truck in the last 3 years, you can pick through my build thread, but for now I will list what my memory permits here.

This is my first truck, I got it when I was 15 from a lady that used it to haul mountain bikes around. Prior to her I think a cowboy owned it, I say because it came preinstalled with a cowboy hat holder lol. Upon getting the truck home it needed a new power window master switch and for some reason the power steering didn't work. I remedied the first two problem and for the next year and a half it became my daily driver and favorite vehicle. At one point I did the deckplate mod and welded in a flowmaster delta 50 series muffler for a little butt dyno increase in power. It remained largely stock until I decided I wanted to turbo charge it and that's where it all went downhill.

So without further adieu, here is a mostly comprehensive list of things I have done to the truck. Don't expect to see miles driven on this stuff. I never made a habit of listing when I did what unfortunately, although I can give estimates. Please ask any questions you have.

    Interior:

    • Pioneer FH-X520UI 2-din radio
    • Some kicker 6.5" 2-way speakers in the doors
    • All red LED dash cluster as well as HVAC controls and ash tray
    • I replaced the dome light and installed a white LED in it
    • LED reading lights
    • Red LED key ring
    • Wet okole seat covers
    • Weathertech floor mats front and rear
    • I 3d printed some functional seat handles
    • 3d printed AC sliders
    • I recently replaced the center dash piece as the original one was cracked badly.

    Exterior:

    • Matte black grill and semi matte-chrome red Toyota emblem
    • Matte black bumper fillers
    • LED reverse lights
    • LED running lights
    • Sun visor
    • I installed the left rear bumper cap since the truck was missing it when I got it
    • Tow hitch
    • OEM rims
Nothing much on the exterior, I wanted to keep it a sleeper.

Now we get into the fun stuff.

    Performance:

    • AEM F/I C 6
    • URD ECU harness
    • Manual boost controller
    • CXracing ceramic ball bearing turbo 51/73mm cold and 62.3/68mm hot with a 0.70AR cold side and a 0.63AR hot side. Data logs show boost starting at around 2300 rpm or so.
    • 3" exhaust with a Pro series flowmaster dumping pre-axle
    • High flow flowmaster cat. (doesn't do much but its physically there in case some pokey emssions guy gets under it)
    • DIY rear o2 sensor - possibly one of the best mods on here
    • 2.5" IC piping stepped up the 2.75" for the intake throttle body.
    • Chevy SU1075 knock sensor swap
    • Decently large intercooler mounted behind the bumper
    • Post MAF setup
    • 10 psi of boost
    • 550cc injectors from Oside Tiger
    • AEM 320lph fuel pump
    • 6an oil cooler pre turbo
    • 4an oil feed to the turbo with a 0.70 restrictor
    • new front bosch o2 sensor
    • AEM X-series wideband
    • Boost/vacuum gauge
    • Currently running my own tune without issue (Been running this tune for about 3000 miles)
    • Transgo shift kit that I drilled out for hot rod shifts
    • AFE air filter
That concludes what I have done performance wise. The turbo kit itself has around 10k-12k miles on it.

    General drivetrain and maintenance:

Fully rebuilt front suspension. See it here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/brices-turbo-v6-build.437641/page-90#post-17085917

    • New poly cab and front fender mounts
    • Icon 3-pack AAL in place of the factory overload spring (this was installed to combat wheel hop which I will mention at the end)
    • I had put some monroe sensa-trac shock on it when I first got it at 166,xxx miles, it now has 183,000 miles on it
    • The rear diff fluid was changed out about 7k miles ago
    • the engine oil was literally just changed with full synthetic in anticipation of going to the drag strip with this thing. Zero miles on the current change.
    • New oil filter
    • Relatively new transmission fluid. 3k miles maybe?
    • New intake gaskets - all of them 10k
    • New valve cover gaskets and rear cam seals - all of them 10k
    • Fully flushed the brakes about 5k ago
    • Newish master window switch 17k
    • Newish power steering rack and pump 17k
    • Newish master cylinder 17k
    • Oil changes done about every 5k
    • New oil pan gasket (done with the turbo install)
    • All new belts. 5k maybe?
    • Just replaced the little rubber strip between the rear left fender flare and the bed
    • Bed Lined with herculiner (starting to fade)
    • Rear white LED license plate bulbs
    • New license plate light housings and seals
    • Sorta ghetto gauge pod location
    • New shifter bushings
    • New carrier bearing on the driveshaft
    • Recently greased all the zerks in the drive line
    • New battery
    • Redline hood struts (Second best mod?)
    • Recently aligned
    • All new vacuum hose (all new one where I didn't delete them.)
    • Has provisions for cruise control but the cruise unit was broken so I removed it and stuck IC piping there.
    • No windshield washer, wiring is there but the tank was moved so I could run IC pipes
Now onto the less good bits.

The truck isn't perfect of course and it has some flaws. I would think it unfair not to tell y'all of these flaws.

Turbo gets hot. So does paint. Hood has a small section where the paint is peeling.

It has axle wrap. This could be fixed with tration bars

    Missing passenger seat trim

A few small dings here there along with some scratches.

It could also use new front rotors.

The AEM F/I C 6 wiring harness could also be de-pinned to save glovebox space, but I never cared.

All in all these are fairly small things aside from maybe the wheel hop, however Speedfreek sells a set of traction bars made for 1st gen Tacomas on his website. If I chose to keep this truck I would install these. http://speed-freek.com/for-sale/speed-traction-bars/

Now for some pictures. Many more progress pictures can be found on my build thread in my sig.

    Good question.

You put in some serious labor on that front end. Marshmallows included.

How was it removing those UCA bushings? Easier than the Lowers?

Not really, they both have to be burned out. It's honestly easiest to let a torch sit and burn them out, eventually they self eject and the inner metal bushing will slide out on its own. You could make an attempt to drill or press them out but they are very soft and in my case gave too much to be pressed out.

No, but I should have enough left over for a turbo and something with 8 cylinders.
