How to take apart a center console? (2017 Taco)

Does anyone have any tips or experience taking apart the center console in a 2017 Tacoma? I noticed there are 2 bolts at the bottom of the console, but I feel like there's more to it than that.

I'm looking to install a 12v adapter and USB ports to the back of it just below the drink holders.

 

It’s just those bolts and clips. If I remember right, you have to take the center part off first which is before that center armrest. Take off your shift knob and then pull the part off and work your way back. Good luck.

Since we're on the topic of interior removal. Does anyone know what I have to do to remove the lower center console panel? I've searched the forum and have only found easy ways to access the buttons, but not actually remove that panel.

I skimmed the above posted document (yes all 11,292 pages) and didn't see it in there, admittedly i also did not see front console box removal instructions either.

Any help is appreciated.

I took mine completely out only to find out the back curved / contoured piece is held on with a row of clips and could have (if very careful) been removed without taking off the whole center console.
Otherwise it's a matter of undoing those bolts at the bottom of the storage compartment then popping it out all the way from the front, making sure to clear it over the gear shift and handbrake.

 

I didn't, thank you! I suppose if I follow the installation instructions in reverse order, that will help me remove that panel.

 

This helped me when I was checking for rattling wires and such last year.
