yeah but they are 8s though. I know they are impressive 8s, but still 8s. I want to mount some in my rear doors and see how that works....

I feel that if you removed the cross bar on the rear wall eliminating the need for the cut out you could get it to fit. i have been debating that for a while now.

Oh, this is going in my 1st gen. It's bigger than it looks - is literally going to mean I have to rebuild the back wall.

have you thought about doing a fiberglass back wall? Could mold in the amp rack and sub enclosure...

looks clean, I tried 1/2" mdf at first and it was too thin and the box flexed, so i used 1/2 5 ply birch wood and it has zero flex now!

That would be way too much work. I'm thinking a sheet of thick plywood with some storage built around the enclosure. Gonna keep the amps under the seats if I can. It would let me use a big sub amp though :cookiemonster:

I have a @Mr Marv box and I love it. He knocked it out really fast and it sounds great with my Parts Express shallow 10" subwoofer.

Yes. It seems to be working well for me. I have a 5 channel Rockford Fosgate amp powering it and my door speakers.

Here is a link to what I put in. 20 years ago I was running two 15" earthquakes in a Ranger. In my Taco I have tried a JL 13.5 shallow, SA-8's and am about as happy as I can get with the single SA-12. I am happy unless the U-series is less than 7" in mounting depth and I will have to try that out. I mounted my amps and eq's in the storage and under the seats.

Here's another question: what's the preferred spot to run the RCA cables and remote wire from the head unit? Down the side near the doors, or under the center console?

Image Dynamics IDQ 10" in a 1cu ft sealed box with polyfill will absolutely shake the truck apart. Can not recommend this combo enough for our trucks.

i have the 13TW5 on the JL attenuator knob and i can't turn it up past about 15-20% maximum before total loss of SQ.

maybe if i stripped it out and heavily dynamatted the floor and roof i could get half way up or something... one day hopefully.

A few mods here and there and counting....
www.*********.com has built boxes that goes behind the rear seat. 8 and 10in sizes. I built one similar to theirs running a 10in Kicker comp rt shallow mount sub ands its enough bass for me. Power/remote turn on ran down the driver side and rcas on the passenger side.

Built the box myself out of 1/2" Birch plywood (I prefer birch over MDF). Wanted to use 3/4" but then would not have gotten the .91 cu ft of interior space needed for the IDQ. Brushed fiberglass resin in the interior of the box to seal it up. On the outside it is wrapped in 4 way stretch vinyl.
