I just looked at the part numbers from the ones I was trying to order the only difference is the ones I was ordering don't have the "4.25h" at the end...maybe they changed the rims slightly. The guy from 4 wheel parts who got in contact with me insisted on telling me he knew everything about tacomas and was telling me to go look through "the hoops on my stock rims and look how toyota custom made their rims to fit around the brakes..." I didn't have the heart to tell him I'm not running stock rims and have taken apart the front end of my truck several times i don't need to look through the "hoops" to see my breaks!

 

Ya most of the 4wheel parts guys don't know a thing about Toyotas, I once had to explain what a coilover was

 

Yea be careful something has changed and you can not seat the 97's to even tighten the nuts, I got Pro Comp 87-6883T instead and they are perfect.

Additionally I originally tried the Pro Comp PCW97-6883 with 4.25 BS and it was a no go.

I use them enough that because I got a deal it's worth it. Really it just makes me wanna try stupid shit lol

So the wife to be is really sold on the idea of a tepui XL ruggedized probably stay with the kukenam sky since it's served us so well and I love taking the fly off in the summer. My next challenge will be how do I create 16" of space Which is the difference between the standard and the xl. Right now I set my tent back further to keep access to my tool box which holds, tools, my air compressor for lockers etc, axles blah blah blah shit I don't want flopping around I dunno how I'm gonna solve this one

Ok so update time. I've booked two potential trip times at work for 2018 if I get the go ahead for late May/June I'm gonna be headed down the coast to California and Rubicon. We really wanted Colorado but I can't get premium time off being the new guy. If I get the go ahead for Sept we are headed for northern B.C./ Yukon. Again really wanted to go to the arctic Ocean but having two previous commitments chewing up vacay time limits me.

Now for the fun part. I'm still trying to make 63s and long was shocks happen. I'm also trying to create more space and gain secure storage without the use of a canopy cause I hate their face. The solution in my eyes is flatdeck/ute it will allow me to run shocks long enough to fully utilize the 63s and I can get my fridge out of the truck and make room for puppers as my fiance has her heart set on a pair of huskies. This really pushed me over the fence

Secure fridge space and a tool box in the same amount of space as my current tool box takes up!!!!

I would obviously make changes it would have to be shorter as I do not want the new rtt higher than the cab as it currently is. Oh ya I'm ordering a new ruggedized kukenam at the end of the month. We had a chat and decided we needed more organization not more tent space. I wish I was better at sketching or computer modelling then I could make a for sure plan instead of just winging the design off the image in my head

 

Oh I almost forgot I went up to Vernon to visit a good buddy I hadn't seen properly for a few years and my left axle seal blew apart on the diff side. Luckily we made it to the local toyota dealership and they got us back on the road.

Yeah I am pretty happy with the Ute bed from UteLtd. Not the cheapest option around, but way more reasonable that norwelds flatbed. Gained a lot of room, and there is an option for a drawer that would sit under the flatbed in the space between the frame and bed. I am going with a canopy option as I need my stuff locked up. This thread on pg7 post 128 is what directed me to UteLtd and has been an unbelievable resource.

I'm hooking up with a local cnc guy whos part of our local group I pitched him my idea and he's thinking he's like one for his truck too.
Basic idea is build a deck to maximize overland style storage space, I like the idea of a rear slide out however I still have an rtt t9 mount that because of my 4cyl cannot be higher than the roof rack. It's slow enough as it is lol. So basically want an upright tool box/ fridge slide out off the headache rack with a top cabinet. Which will be even with the roof rack then have tubbing off the rack and rear drop down so that the tent won't be higher than the highest point of the truck. Lol it's a hard visualization but I'm hoping we can bring it to life. The suspension will be interesting as well
