I bought it from the manufacturer, Casita, in Rice TX (near Dallas).
One reason I bought was because I didn't see very many used ones listed.

    re: the dry bath
I was thinking so too when looking at the site and such... maybe technically, but everything in the bath/toilet area will get wet when you shower. When you use the toilet your feet will be either on the shower floor or tucked back on the toilet floor "lip."

It is nice and small, which is a real advantage when towing & parking. Basically I take two spots when I park, one for the truck & one for it. Also, didn't need extra mirrors in that it is so narrow. I will be installing a rear view camera in the near future--more for backing & tailgaters....

It is also my understanding that they hold their value well. I saw very few used & the discount vs new was often very small.

One thing to be aware of, it that many people (myself included) go visit Larry & Mike at https://littlehousecustoms.com/
I got the scissor jacks (much easier) and several other mods the day after purchase. Well worth it.

p.s. Drive was 1200 miles each way... and I also got to dive my brother a ride from Dallas to Baton Rouge (which added several hundred extra miles, but was was worth it).

I saw this set up a month ago. Had to stop.
The guy and his wife our retired.
    They had a big 5th Wheel & f-350 Diesel
    Sold it and downsized.

They love the trailer and truck. They gave me a full tour. Brought off a friend.

    Thanks.

I haven't got to use it much, except for at my sister's house (where I dropped my brother) & rushing home to the frigid weather to make sure my house pipes didn't freeze. I use the Andersen WD hitch which worked well. Even worked well without the WD chains hooked up on one leg, but they do help a bit for the real bumpy roads.

With trailer got between 10-13 mpg @63-65 in 4th.
My mileage without towing is approx. 16 mpg @65-70'ish in drive. MPG went down when I got slightly larger tires 265/75/16 then regeared to 4.56.
I haven't decided if the bigger tires & regearing were a big mistake. Mileage wise it was a big mistake as the mileage dropped significantly. And with towing I seem to get several mpg less than other stock Tacomas. However, when off the interstate on some rather steep roads at low speeds (& higher speeds) had no issues going up, where I suspect it would have been a bit more challenging without the regearing... that being said maybe I should have got slightly smaller diameter wheels (only losing 1/2" of clearance) and not regeared...

That's very heavy. I assume you are dropping to third and have an automatic transmission when in the hills? If so, I suggest monitoring your transmission fluid temps. You might be roasting when the converter unlocks, especially at 55mph

Isn't that a bit expensive? Our custom toy hauler was only 16 brand new loaded with what we wanted.

No idea really. I know the glass trailers have a cult following and last a long time. My 23ft Jayco was nearly double what they are asking for this little trailer.

casitas rock! we've had ours for almost 2 years and at least 5000 smiles of trips. 4 music festivals, 2 major astronomy gatherings, one total eclipse of the sun. a dozen national parks. way more dry camping than hookups.

The fiberglass rv thing is huge. Light weight, can be towed with a Subaru or similar. And they will last twice as long as a conventional trailer due to the construction.2 halfs = no leaks.

It is an automatic, I would use the manual shift at times on bigger hills. I was letting it shift down as it went up hill and tried to keep the RPM under 3500 while going up. I was really impressed how it pulled. Never seemed to have a fluid temp problem. I previously had a SLE Yukon prior with this trailer. I feel like the tacoma did just as nice a job as the yukon.

Oh I didn't know they were two halves like a clam shell. I think of fiberglass travel trailers where it's just fiberglass siding.

You won't know about the fluid temp problem until the tranny hits 305F and you get a warning on your dash. You should stop long before that. Please look into this or a Scan Guage. My way is 25 bucks

yeah, the 'real' fiberglass trailers are like two boat hulls. interiors are often largely fiberglass, too. these are pretty much only sold direct from the factory, not via RV dealers, so you have to know about them to find them.

major brands include Scamp, Casita, Escape, Bigfoot, Oliver, and there's a bunch of smaller fringe brands too. The 13' ones are really tiny, generally don't have toilets/showers, and are often under 1500 lbs. the 16-17's usually have a 'wet bath' (shower and flush toilet in same stall), and weigh 2000-2400 dry, and max 3500. the 19-21 are generally two axle and get to up around 5000 lbs max. bigfoots and olivers get even bigger (and are way more expensive).

Not crazy at all if you get what you want at a good price. I drove 5 hours one way to buy my trailer in Bozeman MT, then had to import into Alberta on my way home. Saved a bunch, and had a good time doing it

if a trailer fishtails that usually means its loaded wrong, the tongue is too light, and not the recommended 10-15% of the total.
