I have a 2010 DCLB, I lifted it about 8k miles ago. It has the new style Dakar Medium duty packs. I am developing a clunking when the body rolls. Like turning sharp or turning into an inclined driveway. It sounds like something is loose and it clunks when turning both ways.

So far i checked, The leaf spring bolts, the u bolts, the shock bolts, spare tire, gas tank and the bed bolts. All are tight. The Leaf springs came with Poly bushings and the springs appear to be centered on the bushings.

Anybody know of any other things that could cause this?

How sure are you it's coming from the rear end?

75% sure, It sounds like its coming from the back and i can feel it in my seat. However, if you are thinking Sway bar because its directly connected to the subframe. Which could resonate into the seat. Ill disconnect the sway bar for good measure.

Mine clunks too....it's part of the TRD package option....we all paid extra for it.

I have heard many theories.... heard it could be side play in the leafs spring bushings, driveshaft, body mounts too low so the body hits on the frame somewhere, loose shocks..... mine seems to do it more in the cold weather.....

Mine was making a similar clunk noise after I did my lift. I had to torque them to spec and the noise disappeared.

I have a 2015 DCLB sport with stock suspension. I developed a clunk sound from the rear of my truck. It turned out to be a broken leaf spring. Hope this helps.

My sway bar links went bad after I lifted it. They loosened up and the Allen was stripped so I deleted the sway bar. I tried using the allpro links but they would contact the spindle, so no sway bar it is.

It was obvious, however, that the noise was coming from the front end.

I've also heard of the u-bolts holding the leafs on coming loose and clunking after wheeling.

I recorded the sound. It also happens when I push sideways on the truck. Like in this video...

I didn’t get a chance to remove the sway bar but I did check out all the bushings. And they all pretty clean and not worn. The clunk is certainly coming from the rear. It almost sounds like it has something to do with the bed. But the bed bolts are tight.

When you have the truck on stands (i.e. weight off the leafs) you should torque these two bolts to spec, but only hand tighten the third one. Get everything buttoned up (tires on, etc) and lower the truck back on it's own weight, then bounce around on the tailgate and bumper. Once you've shaken it up good, then torque the third bolt. I believe it prevents binding. I have no idea if this is your issue, but this may help.

I have checked the bed bolts. They are all tight. I am convinced the sound is coming from the leaf springs. I have 9 month old Dakar leaf packs. The clunk happens with lateral pressure to the springs. Also, it isn't just one clunk, Its a series of clunks, Kind of like steps. So when im making a right turn, the rear left side of the truck goes, clunk clunk clunk, (sort of sounds like its winding up). Then when I make a left turn the sequence reverses, and the right side of the truck does it.

So at this point, I think its probably the leaves sliding around and clunking on the retainers.
