I have the XD kit with 5K bulbs. One ballast already pooched out. Warranty, yes. But have been waiting two weeks for a replacement. Got the Headlights in December. Wouldn't buy again.

Can you explain this in more depth?

Do the instructions that come with say to do it the way you did? If not, can you provide details because I've also heard someone who fried their truck..

essentially, the harness is in place and designed to fail before your truck wiring in the event of a freak electrical accident. plenty of people run HIDs without a harness but i am not willing to risk it.

This is just replacing the Low beams? The fogs and high beams are stock? Could you get a pic of the front of the vehicle with fogs on and then high beams on?

installed mine last night, took maybe a half hour for me to sort out what plugged in where (lots of harnesses). I love the kit, the lights are fantastic, I did the phillips 4300k bulbs and the difference from the OPT LED bulbs is shocking. So much better.

I wish the one difference was more "kit specific" installation instructions. they really were not good instructions telling you what harness plugs in where. I got it all right the first time but it took me thinking about it more than it should have.

All in all, I'm extremely happy I went from LED to HID

I did mine last night too. I need to go back and will do the self tapping screw like the OP for the harness, I used both of them. What else do people do if not screw? Just tie it up with the rest via zip ties and let it float?

@Doozy4212 I was on the fence, but this write up pushed me over into trying it out. Kit ordered today with a 15% off code. Excited to try it out. Thanks for the write up!

I can say to all of you, I am in Steamboat Springs this week to ski and the road up to where we are staying is DARK. Like dark as all hell, I’ll try to snap some pics but these headlights perform! The only thing that could make them better is the RX350 retrofit!

I absolutely love my set. I put a set on my truck and a set on my wife's CRV. I actually just bought replacement bulbs for when the time comes that they need to be replaced.

Finally got my kit and did my install today. I would’ve been done much quicker if I wasn’t working in the dark and the directions didnt suck.

I’ve got some cleaning up to do regarding the wiring, but the view is SO MUCH better. I’m a bit concerned with the current cut off but we’ll see over the rest of the week how it plays out in regular driving.

@Doozy4212 great write up! I have been on the fence regarding HID's, but after reading this post I'm going to give it a try. The kit you bought was it the H11 HID kit Xtreme HID?

    Thanks again!

The Philips 4300k bulbs will color shifted after times, The lights will be slightly cooler than when they are brand new, color will be closer to 5000K.
