True, but I don't know if he has the same 3 mile commute to work that you do.

In all honesty, I plan to get a DD down the road as my girl seems to fly like a bat out of hell in her little Yaris and its impressive it hasn't died yet and they are dirt cheap for a good gas platform.

Id love a Yaris! I was actually considering a 94-97 Accord because they are bulletproof, and can get them really cheap! A friend of mine did 1 oil change per year, and it would still be running, if a drunk driver didnt kill it in the middle of the night. And it sounds appealing doing nothing to a car, except making it pass inspection.

Still cheap enough to dump it, if the repair is too much..

Nothing wrong with that choice. I think many of my friends ran those till it just simply died. The cool thing about a Yaris is for the gas MPG which is about 30 city and 40+ highway its cheap as shit on gas and for whatever reason they are like pennies even around here. I found a mint 2007 one with like 60k miles for around 3k with no blemishes and clean interior. It seems they range from 2700-3500 for the most part. Wouldn't be surprised if that is double the price for the accord though. Although the Yaris would be auto, drives like a go-cart on crack.

The accords that I am finding/seeing are around the 1000-2k range. I need manual. Auto is so boring.

I traded the frame and fork for a trek slash 9.8! And sold the rest of the parts!

Yeah my commute is 30 miles one way, so the miles are adding up!!

Nice man, def a solid trade as the 500 had some age on it right? I actually got my girl a new Cannondale Trigger as I was impressed with the partial travel lock out without restricting the rear shock movement. Im sure you can DH the slash in the mean time right?

Congrats on the job! and the dog!

I got my driveshaft made at Drive Train Industries. They're out west but my guess is that they would ship. I paid less than $300 to have one custom built. It's insanely well made and gorgeous.

Finally diagnosed and fixed what was wrong with my heat!

For months my vent air flow would work, not work, and then self heal and work again.

After some googling I stumbled upon this:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/replacement-of-hvac-blower-motor-resistor.8310/

And then fixed my resister my doing this:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/before-you-replace-the-blower-resistor.107093/

I bent the prong and cleaned the connection and boom variable blower speed again :)

    How I tested it:

I think I have a similar issue, did the blower sometimes not kick on until you hit a pot hole or something?
