Not true. The truck can only know how many revolutions the tires make, a bigger tire will roll a further distance with the same number of revs.

Do 255 85 16 tires fit in the spare tire location? Has anyone tried it?

Mine in with no hammering or bending. But it does sit closer to the exhaust then I would like.
If it wasn't pissing rain outside I would take some pictures.

i have a 255/85/16 crammed up in the spare tire location. Pretty damn close to the exhaust, almost touching. It fits... and I just don't worry about it anymore. :lalala: :anonymous:

One thing I liked about he TRD exhaust, it has a heat shield right next to the spare wheel location.

Joining the 255/85/16 club in a couple of weeks. Can a dealership adjust the speedometer and odometer?

Because the bigger tires cause your odometer to show less miles than you actually went. This is something you have to remember as part of your calculation of MPG's if you are into that sort of thing....

How do these coopers compare to KO2's in general? I know the KO2's are more of a all terrain tire and don't come in the 255/85 size, but tire wise what are thoughts? I just cannot decide if I want to go the 255/85 route to get a little extra in height or go with the KO2's. I plan to keep the off road wheel for awhile and I don't plan to lift it anytime soon right now.

Ratcity - I've had the same questions as you, and also don't plan on lifting, and do plan on keeping stock OR wheels. I'll be getting the St Maxx's in 255/85-16's next week, I'll let you know if I made the right decision. Fingers crossed...

Great thanks. So far this sounds like the right direction for me too
