I had an issue with my SSO bumper and they promptly sent me a new one. Their customer service is excellent.

I dig the color match. Looks good.

Could you expand on the color match? Where, what, how...where did you get it done, what type of paint or powder coat, how much?

Possibly could. Depends if you can get the middle section straight after you make your cuts it might relax it.

    Scratches, dents, lots of squeaks.
Looks good. Not sure I would have noticed the hoop. But since you pointed it out. It would drive me nuts too

I painted it all myself man! I didn’t put it in a paint boot or anything just swept and wet the ground down good. I used epoxy primer, DuPont basecoat then sprayed DuPont chromaclear over it. You just have to keep it clean, wiping it down with tacky cloth before you shoot works well.
Probably roughly about $200 in paint stuff. I had to give my vin # to the paint shop and that allowed them to get the mix right. I guess there’s several different variations of Toyota silver sky. Lol

Paint looks really good man, nice work!

The build quality would bug me for sure given cost, time, etc. If it were me I’d want them to get me a new bumper and take care of the paint. I was considering one of these cause my buddy has one on his runner, they look great. But based on this, I would think twice about going with them now. Quality control is crucial.

    Thanks man! I appreciate that..
I was going to go with c4 fab but I went with sso becuase they’re a small company and I wanted to support them. I read a lot of reviews and they all seemed good, everyone who bought one was happy with it. I think it’s just my luck lol.

    UPDATE:

SSO customer service is the best I’ve delt with in along time. It was so painless, all they asked for were a few pictures of the bumper with a measuring tape showing the diffence.. which is understandable. They promptly responded and told me that they would send me a new bumper painted to match, completely on them! All I need to do is swap over the light bar and hardware. I’m not quite sure how long it will take them to get me the bumper this time though lol.

Glad to hear they took care of you! Their customer service is phenomenal and the bumper is worth the wait.

I love my bumper. I installed it a few weekends ago and haven't noticed anything wonky with measurements - hoop or anything else.

See here for a detailed write-up that I did and more photos.

Hey, so i just found this thread and wanted to let you know your warranty bumper is already fabricated and is heading to the body shop for color matching this week. Thanks for reaching out to us in the first place to let us know of the issue. We were able to correct an entire batch of bumpers headed to powder because of your information. We also sent out a recall campaign to all recent customers letting them know of the potential issue so that it could be corrected to their satisfaction.

We are very sorry this wasn't caught much sooner and would never knowingly send out a bumper that I wouldn't personally run on my own truck for SEMA. Please accept our apologies once again and I hope we've earned the right to keep you as our customer.

    Regards,

    Kevin
    President
