Hey, no problem. If you're looking to get one, good luck with the search.

How do you like the annex? I was looking to add it to mine.

It works great. Does take the added time to set up but gives us a dressing room, I think a little extra warmth and a little added security. We also use it as a bathroom with our small RV porta potty we bring with us. We had some coyotes outside our tent the other day and my girl had to use the restroom and she never even left the annex. It really only takes me about 5 minutes to set up but when breaking down I like to sweep it out which takes longer. This one comes with a floor bottom that can be unzipped and detached either for cleaning or if you don't want it. What we do is lay down a large area RV mat before putting up the annex and that provides less of a cleanup of the bottom of the floor. I bought the annex (part 2888) through 4wheelparts for $299 total and the tent for $875 total during Black Friday sales. I honestly think one of the best deals out there. They just came out with the annex a few months back too.

I started another thread of a way that members from Tacomaworld can get discounted parts through Rob at Quadratec. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rigid-deals-plus-more-quadratec.531367/
Email or call him for quotes because I remember after the fact he quoted me $269 shipped for the annex. He might be able to get a deal on the tent too if wanted.

Do you have any other pictures of your annex? Trying to get an idea how it looks inside set up.

Sorry I don't have any of inside as it's kind oflll hard to get a full shot with a picture in there. Maybe in the future I will do a full video or something. Hopefully these other shots kinda give an idea. So it zips super easy to bottom of the tent itself and like I said before has a zipper that also attaches to the floor.

Funny thing is I went outside no problem (I grew up in the mountains).... But she's a city girl with city fears. Haha. How else am I supposed to convince her to keep coming out with me?

Just name them. Everyone knows once you name them they're practically pets for girls.

But then I'm pretty sure you've also adopted them too so it's a 50-50 and lots of commitment.

I'm looking at the Shasta standard Stargazer as well as the Gordigear Explorer. I like the standard because the ones with the annexes don't have a window facing that side and if you hear a noise coming from that direction or something at night you'd have to step out to investigate ( at least from looking at the pics online ) with the annex in the way.

For those that haven't discovered gordi, they are probably the CVT equivalent in Australia where overlanding has been a thing for a long time and lots of usage all around the world including Australia, Africa, Europe etc:
    http://www.gordigear.com/roof_tents/roof_tents.php?l=en

The gordi has a cheaper option without the annex for the basic explorer which is equivalent to the Shasta standard in size, and that's with CVT's current sale - so the gordi is definitely a great value for a 2+ starter tent ( about 1300$ shipped ). The only thing distinguishing the CVT is the stargazer feature. I haven't seen any pics or description of the stargazer. On the website is says you can "Add the stargazer feature". Is this something purchased separately? Does anyone have pics/description of it and how to use it?

Also Gordi has the PVC mattress sleeve built into the tent and looks like it doesn't require a condensation mat. So the CVT is about 200$ more with the condensation mat with the current sale. Without the sale it's a whole lot more. The Gordi is also a lot lighter.

Any users of Gordi out there in the Tacomaworld? CVT has plenty of great testimonials here already.

Just received my RTT, but waiting for brackets to arrive to mount it.

Are there some things i should do or make ready before i put it on the truck? Should i put it up in the living room to air it out or something?

I opened it up in the garage to let it air out and washed the mattress cover. My smittybilt tent also required the ladder and mounting rails to be installed prior to vehicle installation.

side note which i feel is pretty awesome although it was a bit sketchy in the moment. These tents survive 70mph gusts and constant 40-50mph winds. The desert wind is no joke.
