    TW Folks!

I literally was about to pull the trigger on on 6112/5162 kit, it runs 1800$ with light racing UCAs and 2"AAL system. I keep looking at the OME With either the 887 coils or 888s. Those run 1200ish with daks or 3 leaf systems. Now I am looking at the Icon stage 3 with UCAs. The stage 2 comes with 3 leaf AAL but no UCAs for the price of the bilstein and OME @ 1900.00. I AM ALL OVER THE PLACE ON THIS!

I don't know if anyone has read my past post. I am the type of person that goes into a store, sees something, then ponders like a crazy person while walking around the store looking up reviews on that item. Typically when it should take me 10minutes to enter the store and leave ith the item, I am there for a hour double guessing myself.

I want to lean to the OME for the price and simplicity but have read about rust problems with them and not feeling any better then the cheap 5100s. I don't know anyone that has them personally on a 3rd gen. I do have a friend with a JK and he loves them.

The 6112 kit looks nice. However, you are looking at 2" max BEFORE it settles. Im looking at 2" after it settles. The kit is more expensive and I am unsure with how it will perform after you drop weight in the nose and bed. OME, you can pick a spring for that kind of stuff.

Icons look sweet but I have read mixed reviews on the hats failing and you have to dial the spring down a lot to get 2" which puts more pressure on the shock and surrounding items. Also the stage 3 is 2600.00... The stage 2 is 1900 which is tempting...

    SOMEONE HELP!!!

Man I wish I could help but I’m in the same boat. Was dead set on 2.5” Kings and now I’m second guessing my decision against something cheaper like the OMEs. I’ve been reading through the OME thread but by the time I’m done I think the 2019’s will be out . I’m worried about rust as well and would feel much better replacing rusty OMEs vs rusty Kings but I just don’t know anymore.

I am starting to lean towards the OME kit. Anyone have positive views on it? Seems like for the money, it will work fine for my needs.

I have a budget LOL... So far the Bilsteins are the top of my budget. Id go with the Icon but getting them rebuilt and what not sounds like a pain in the ass and 4-6 week lead times. No thanks. The billys look nice, not sure how much better then the OME.

"I'm biased cuz I have the 6112/5160. What I will say is that 6112 is the largest out of the group 2.65 outer body and 60mm piston and the 5160 has a reservoir which has more ext travel 1.5" or more due to the resi being able to carry that extra oil. A lot more performance in this setup vs the other 2 competitors. You get the performance of a coilover but don't pay the price of one. It's very comparable to Icon stage 2. I might get some heat saying that but hey it's my opinion.

OME is able to bring more lift to the table and the Billie 5100 set at 0 with 887 is a setup that's popular here on the forums and is proven off and on road and is cheaper amongst the competitors.

    Good luck on your choice!!"

I did read it. How does yours handle off-road? Do they feel a lot better then the stockers on bumps and harsh dirt trails with pot holes?

Honestly only have light dirt trails where I'm located. So I haven't taken it truly off-roading at all, but I am planning it on the future. But to answer your questions it is far superior to stock

I'm also running it at a 2" lift now. Go to post 1093 and you'll see a pic of it and you can determine if that's a suitable lift for you. I would read all 50+ pages of you want to go this route.

I have the money for either kit. Thats not the problem. I don't have a want or need for Kings. The type of driving I do and for my budget, I want the middle ground suspension. Billys or OME. If I wanted kings, id save for them but I can do other things with that extra cash.
