Awesome thank you sir. Mine would be heading to Wisconsin so shouldn't be any further really. Even so, I'm happy with $630 shipped.

This is incredibly tempting was gonna go with a 6112/5160 but now I can't decide, only reason I wont pull the trigger is idk how I feel about only an inch or so of lift but after AAL this is still like 400 cheaper. Ugh decisions.

So I just called Thompsons and they said they are not shipping these anywhere. They are only available for local pick up. Wondering who you talked to and how you got them to ship them? They said they were too big to ship.

Mods are required but there is a write up on T4R.org. Main thing is drilling out rear top shock mount hole to 1". Also a small mod to lower front shocks.

Yeah, I hear you on all leaf springs making some noise.

Another thing that really made me sweat the Dakars is I was at the liquor store last weekend and a nice 2017 lifted Tacoma pulled up and was squeaking like crazy with any minor movement. I took a closer look and sure enough he had Dakars with the yellow bushings. If I wasn’t in a hurry to get hammered and not look like a weirdo stalking the owner I would have hung out and asked him about it when he came back to his truck. I started searching the forums for “Dakar noise” and found tons of people with issues.

Searching for AAL noise or squeak turned up almost nothing. Similar searches for Deaver turned up nothing, Wheelers turned up nothing. New Icon’s lol nice but no info on those being noisy yet, and they are pricy and may have too much droop for these shocks.

Main issue with AAL is them going flat. My stock leafs are quiet with 23k miles and lots of desert dust and salty winter roads. Tempted to go AAL and keep overload, add u-bolt flip and bump stops. Plus I’ll disassemble, grease the piss out of the AAL, and grease the interface with stock springs during install.

Looking for more info on the Wheeler 5 leaf but it’s slim pickins. Same with Wheeler 8 leaf but they appear permamnent out of stock anyway.

That truck in the parking lot scared me. It was super clean as well. Not like it just got back from Moab, etc...

Yes, no issues, very good ride quality. I did however add a 1" ready lift cast rear block to take care of rake issue.

Thompson's in MD cancelled my web order, saying the parts are too big to ship and I'd have to pick them up. Being in California, that wasn't an option. LOL.

Did order from Thompson's? If so how were you able to get them to ship? I called and the guy I talked to said they were too big to ship. Makes no sense

I believe the code is "get5off" or getoff5." I placed the order in cart, filled all the info but didn't complete the order. I got side-tracked. Minutes later, I got an email from them, stating I hadn't completed the order. So in order for me to bite, they offered 5% off. Not a bad deal after that . Hope this helps.

I dont think the guy running the parts department knows what hes doing. No one else has a problem with shipping these. I imagine he thinks this includes leaf springs and such.

I told him front and rear shocks, front springs. He didnt know what it was. Then he said $100, but that was earlier this morning. They probably just dont want to deal with it. He did sound put out, just answering the phone.

Yeah I hear that. Like I said, I'm gonna try the stock bushings and see how it goes. I'm at 16 k and have no squeaks so I'd like to keep it that way.
