How do your airbags affect your rear suspension's articulation?

Not to black out here but we did the install at my place and I still have the pics on my phone. We extended the lower mounting plate by welding a piece on and notching it to fit the axle. Then we used the day star cradles on the bottom. Down travel is unlimited because the mags aren’t hard mounted they are just held in place by the cradles and for up travel the air bags replace the bump stops so never run them at zero, they recommend don’t go below 5 but on @Chux ’s heavy rig he runs them higher all the time. Basically leave enough air in them so the shock can’t bottom out is all. On trips we’ve been on the bags don’t effect wheel travel at all. I’m sure he has some flex pics. Here is the mounting setup.

Where did you find 1/8 plate large enough to cover the entire panel? I searched online and came up empty.

Ordered my wire- still trying to figure out how you made the eye here. Just with 1 clamp? Does your riser rattle and hit the rack?

@Wheelspinner pretty much nailed it. We ended an extension plate on cuz of the thickness of my leaf pack, having Dakars with AAL. Like he said the air bag is bolted on the top but not the bottom so articulation is not lost.. Loving this setup

The best part of the Firestone Ride-Rite kit is you can install the valve stems to inflate/deflate the bags wherever you want within reason of the supplied air line length. I put mine on the bed wall near the cubby i have my OBA routed to. I can easily manage the bags from this spot.

I went to a local metal supply shop. They do a lot of commercial orders so it was easy to get a 4'x8' sheet of 1/8" aluminum

    Nice. Yup one clamp.
Its a wire clamp I go from the hardware store, just like this vvv. I put on a zip tie just to hold the wire tail from flapping around.

Hard to tell in the pic but with the angle of the cable heading to the headlight hoop it gives itself space to the roof rack, no rattling.

I like your air bag set up, do they function also as bump stops?

Yes. They recommend to never have them below 5 psi I believe. That is a good balance between stock ( or normal for whatever leaf packs you have) and not so deflated that you risk pinching the bags and potentially putting a hole in one. If you ge them the instructions tell you a minimum psi. Then when loaded just add air until they support you load without causeing a super harsh ride. That will vary depending on your load and comfort

We had this debate earlier in the build. They air bags are used in a bumpstop location. With the bags having constant contact they do stop any harsh bumps from affecting the shocks. Like @Wheelspinner said depending on your ride comfort and gear load you can have the bags set to your liking.
