Thought I'd start a Switch Pro's 9100 thread specifically for Gen 3 owners since information is scattered in various forums and not necessarily applicable for 2016+ Tacomas.

First of all, how different is the 9100 vs the 8100?

    The 9100 systems now Include:

    -Dimming for lighting outputs
-External trigger to activate up to 2 outputs
-Battery Voltage display on app screen
-RGB backlighting to match your dash colors
-Switches 1-4 are 18 amps each
-Switches 5-8 are 35 amps each (by combining two 17a wires to make 35a)

What is a Switch Pros 9100? See Overview of Switch Pros 9100 by SDHQ

Carryover Gen 3 SP 8100 user thread started by @Joethebugman
    Switch Pros user questions

So what can you do with the trigger wires?
Trigger wires are used for and external input to activate an output. Example: connect a trigger wire connected to the high beams. This will activate lights such as a rooftop bar and ditch lights when highbeams are on.

Another common application is to tie into the reverse signal, which can trigger some rear facing lights and pods.

On the 9100 system, there are two trigger wires, which can trigger up to four outputs each.

Easy add-a-circuit to get you going
Don't know where to tap the ignition and lighting wires? (Courtesy of user @TAF_Taco )

ARB CKMA12 wiring harness specific questions:

So, for those hooking up an ARB Compressor, a harness is available to plug right into the ARB wiring harness. Available here - http://store.switchpros.com/quick-connect-harness-for-arb-compressors/

As for me, I'm only using the compressor for air only and not using it for lockers since I have an eLocker in the rear.

While there are two trigger wires, the instructions call for wiring one of the two (white wire) into a circuit that comes on when the headlights come on so that the switch panel dims. Right?

    has anyway made custom labels?

Correction on the trigger wire. You're referring to the "Lights Input/T2, White Wire." This one senses headlight input and dims your backlighting.

As for the trigger wire (pink), I haven't tapped mine yet, but intend to hookup trigger 1 to my highlights so that my lightbar comes on automatically when I switch on the high beam. I was also planning on hooking up trigger 2 to a reverse light for my rigid ignite that I plan on installing for the rear bumper. Another option is to tap into your dome light so as to switch on you rock lights when you unlock/lock or open your door. I'd love to hear other ideas since the trigger function is new for the 9100 systems.

Not sure if custom labels are made/available yet. If anyone knows, please chime in.

These are the three locations I am looking to tap into. I will most likely since there are only two trigger wires and not three, tap into my high beams and reverse lights. Then I will tap into my dome light directly with my Rock Lights. One trigger will hookup to my Squadrons on my Roof Rack and my Ditch Lights. Then the second trigger will hookup to my Flush mounted S2s in my Rear Bumper and my Chase Lights. Only problem with this feature that I can think of is if I’m backing up in say a mall parking lot, all those lights come on, could be a bit much. However, it would be extremely nice to have when you are out in the middle of nowhere.

Following, 9100 is on my shortlist. Won’t be taking full advantage right away but seems like the way to start off right. Adding ditch lights/ hidden 30” SR bar, and than who knows right?

Ok, got the APP figured out now. Was playing around with it and the panel lights will not go off, will they go in to sleep mode after a while or does is it supposed to stay illuminated all the time?

It will stay illuminated as long as there is power supplied to the ignition wire. Is your lights staying on after you shut off the truck?

Yes it is, however the switches will not turn on any of the accessories that are hooked up to it.

Something doesn’t sound right. Can you take a pic of where you tapped your ignition wire into? Are your power and ground connections direct to the battery?

I had my shop install it while they were doing some other stuff to the truck. When the truck is running all the accessories work fine. When the truck is off the back light is on. When I play with the headlights the backlight gets brighter when the lights are on and dimmer when they are off. With the accessory switch on it he truck is on the back light turns off when the headlights are turned off and turns on when I turn the headlights off. Sounds like they wired something backwards. Will take it back up to them on Monday.

Agree. If your shop doesn't correct the issue, give @switch-pros a call at 949.581.2991. Ask for Robert or Laura.

So the blue wire is plugged in to the IG1 No. 2 fuse (Top Black Circle) The white wire is currently plugged in the to dome fuse (bottom black circle). I did that so it would turn off when the truck was off. The shop had the white wire plugged in the Tail fuse (top red circle). Pictures for reference.

    Here's my 9100 setup.
You can tap into the under hood fuse box for both triggers. White wire to a low beam circuit, and blue to the ignition circuit. I wound up cutting the pink trigger wire, as I don't need it at the moment I left enough to allow me to splice it back in, when needed. 20180209_150754.jpg
    20180211_152919.jpg
I'm using the Expedition Essentials sunglass holder mount since I don't have fancy crawl control, and the positioning is awesome.

Here is my setup. Overall, very happy with the switch-pro. Hooked up the anytime backup to it today and the cali-raised led bar in grill yesterday. Have not messed with the second trigger yet. Not sure what I will do with that option.

Anytime backup camera mod with some extra wire protection added
