Thanks guys... for the laugh and the info.

I've had batteries before that were rated enough to do the job, but were sadly lacking.

Just curious about the Toyota unit, and if anyone has put it to the test yet.

hey OP, just curious, which Red Top did you get? I emailed Optima customer service a couple weeks ago to see which one they would recommend (because their website would only recommend Yellow Tops) and they came back with "sorry, pick one of these Yellow ones" .......I guess business is great over there haha

I have that winch. If you have the tow package with the bigger alternator it won't be a problem. Just run the engine when winching. Having said that I installed an Optima yellow top to be safe.

should say somewhere what group it is.
and a F would be reversed terminals. so + on the left when looking at it from the front vs being on the right.

That’s a group 25 battery. Have you tried fitting it in the truck yet? I don’t think the battery cables will stretch far enough to attach to the terminals since they are on the forward side of the battery instead of the rear.

Exactly, does not look like the cables are going to reach.

I went ahead and installed it in the jeep. When the time comes, I'll do the same for the Tacoma.... But with the correct one for the truck. I guess optima make one for these trucks.

Northstar seems to be the go to Battery for our Tacoma's, there have been group buys for them.
