OME kit with... (gasp!) spacers?

is it even an option? if so any advice would be much appreciated

I’m in a 16 AC OR manual. Stock bumper, no winch, cap etc.

Had the medium duty ome kit (888/dakar), drivers trim packer, installed afew weeks ago with JBA ucas and egcs bushings and 255/80/17. Removed front mud flaps.

initially I loved it. Slight rake, had zero rubbing, alignment was and still is great. rides better than stock.

Til this weekend...first time I took it loaded into the woods on some rough dirt roads. I had noticed some settling before but now I’m rubbing up front on passenger side and the rear leafs are squeaking like crazy which I’m thinking I can fix thanks to the massive thread on that.

I’m wondering if I shouldn’t have gone with the HD kit....being a heavier dude (220lbs) and what I use it for. (Will be towing a boat around 2900lbs) this summer.

Little sour at this point after doing my research (I guess not enough), wanting to do it once and ending up like this after a couple weeks.... hopefully one more go and she'll be ready for spring/summer when the real adventures go down.

Game plan is to hook up the boat , load the bed with gear and see how much sag I get on the rear. Then come up with a plan to bring up the front enough to stop rubbing, and level the back if/as needed (timbrens? sumos?)

Takes forever to sift through info on here so I’m not sure if I can even add a spacer to this set up. Prob just make some calls to reputable sources. Thing about being in Canada is to save $ you have to go through places that have less than knowledgeable staff to source parts.

That thing doesn't even look like it's been lifted in the front.

    Probably the tall skinnies though.

    Sorry to hear it's sagging.

that front doesnt look right, especially with the 888's....

did you put the shocks/coils together yourself or had them preassembled?

Doesn't look right at all compared to this user with OME shocks/springs too. Don't think the springs would make that much of a difference without you in it.

Don't put a spacer in, this will happen.

indeed they are....FFS...took it to a shop to avoid any issues and this is what I get. Luckily he's a walk away from the house and I just talked to him. he's going to fix it no cost as well as do what he can about the squeaking in the rear even though I know that's the leafs not his work.

but he's saying that's not going to bring the front end up any.... am I right to have a hard time believing that it won't make the kit perform as designed?

I think flipping them will add a little more preload. Same as moving the collar up on 5100s. It’s probably a few millimeters, which makes a big difference. Just look at the small difference between settings on the 5100s or the length of 888 vs 887 vs 885.

I wouldn't go back to the guy that installed it wrong to start with.

    Holy shit!

Yes. When it is installed right it will give your more lift and ride better.
