What did you have them initially aired to? I got to try this chalk test, I bet my tires are over inflated.

Are they ever really closed? There snowmobile trails now but I doubt theres even enough snow up there right now to have them open.
I understand the signs saying open/closed during these dates but why couldn’t I go snow wheeling in ardbeg next week? But is it breaking the rules or law on the crownland? I have no idea.
Last time i was in minden was first weekend of april, I believe they’re still “closed” but the one day i was there we passed two trucks and 2-3 groups of atvs

I got them back from the tire shop all mounted and balanced at 37 PSI.

So the only problem I had was with the rears being over inflated.

The only thing I have been able to figure out is regarding snowmachine trails.

If they are posted, numbered trails in part of a clubs trail system, you can not use them for off roading while they are open for snowmachine use. Once they are closed to snowmachine's its fair use for everyone else.

The VMUTS here still has enough snow that it is open for snowmachines, so I could not get stuck on it today. Went out with the wife to have a peak see.

    Edit**
If you are going snow wheeling in Ardbeg, you let me know when. I am there!

The atv guys are usually snowmobile riders too.

The only issue I really see is the ground being to soft and you ruin the trail by rutting it out.

Ardbeg obviously has its dates posted so I'd imagine mnr could ticket you. I'm not positive on it.

Generally, the snowmobile trails are licensed to the Snowmobile Clubs. Any private land that is involved, the Clubs have a written contract with the landowners..

The best way to have a snowmobile trailed closed on private land is to trespass on their trail...! The landowner generally does not want ATV's and trucks cutting their property to ratshit..!

I believe (don't hold me to it) that Ardbeg is all Crown Land; however, if the MNR has any signs prohibiting a particular use, you might get a ticket..! Best way to check is to call the MNR office in P. Sound.

I agree, this time of year there is likely still about 12"-18" of snow on it and snowmobiles "may" still be using it. It would be hard going right now, as that packed trail snow would be a bitch if you broke through.

I've still got 16" in my front yard, and I'm 45 minutes south and east of the Ardbeg trail. It's still going below 0 every nite here.... was -14 last nite.

    Good luck..!

It is Crown land but has signs.

If you go on of4 all those trails are still listed as closed. Although some might be rideable I'd be hesitant. Especially in Minden as the locals already try to get it closed so don't want to give them any fuel.

However rays place is still open year round right in Minden so could always go there

Truck is back at home. Needs an alignment and the gears need to be broken in. Other than that next week it’s bumper building time and frame boxing time...:sawzall::welder:

Cap, wiring, and compressor after that....I’m sure there is more but I can’t think that far ahead

I have been waiting on parts for my welder and my truck was in the shop. Next week I should have the bumper built and frame plated. I don't know how the bumper is going to look but it will be functional....The big question is if I want to do a tire gate. Never really liked them as its another thing to open or get in the way.

I hear ya about life getting in the way. Feel like I have been collecting parts for ever and not doing anything with them....soon enough.

Yea, my bedroom had the lockers and wheel bearings, and currently has traction boards, solar panel, battery, bunch of battery stuff, bumper stuff, frame plates, and some other stuff...

When are you doing your suspension? You have skids as well don't you?

    you win

need nice enough weather to tackle the suspension, its been nice during the week but, I work, so by the time I get home its cold and dark. weekends have not been nice, not shity, but not warm enough to want to wrench haha I probably wont start until next month, I have a trip up north at the end of the month and I don't want to deal with any surprises. I do indeed have skid plates, but those will be the last thing to go on, I still have to paint them and figure out how I am going to paint them (hang them some how). they are BEEFY af!! way more stout then I was expecting lol I also got the URD Y-Pipe.

Has anyone here had the pleasure of replacing an outer CV boot? I have my oem CV on a bench waiting with a boot kit beside it. I saw a vid on it and the mechanic actually removed the entire shaft from the outer to clean it up to repack grease. I understand the removal of the inner tripod to be able to slide the boot down the shaft but is it necessary to remove the shaft to clean the outer?

    https://vimeo.com/3089355

was gearing up to do this job, but they keep replacing my worldparts (junk) axles for free..

should be able to clean it up without total disassembly, but have not done this myself yet

oh, my bad... but, I can't see why you'd have to take it apart further than that, unless you wanted to do a proper inspection of all the parts, but
this guy got away with it without the full tear-down..?
and like, he's a mod.. :notsure:

    I
I agree. Just wanted to see if there was any reason other than a thorough cleaning.
