    Owned a 05 that I built up with 130k hard miles of logging roads. Only had 2 issues. The manual transmission got stuck in 6th gear, the secondary shift fork broke and stripped out 5th and 6th gear. Replacement parts cost as much as a new transmission with a warranty. So I put a new tranny in. Second problem, the truck wouldn't go into 4 wheel drive unless you turned off the truck, flipped the switch to 4HI and then turned on the key. The truck would still disengage properly. The cause ( took me 5 years to finally solve) the 4x4 actuator needs to be pulled off the front diff. and has to be soldered in 4 places. Never had a problem since.
    Now I own and built a 2017. Sure there are some things like 5th gear that I dislike. But I still love both these trucks. They are basically the same truck. Just a different motor and trans.
    But all in all if you build and maintain your vehicle right, your going to have many years of bad ass fun. Doesn't matter what year14220.jpg 20170127_160052.jpg
