The good thing about the Peddal Commander is that it won't void your warranty and you get an extremely noticeable difference in throttle response. I am not completely familiar with the OVTune, but I imagine it might void the warranty not to mention its almost $800. Of course with the OVTune you are getting throttle response, more HP, and Torque so for the extra $600 is it worth it. You can get the PC on Amazon so worse case you hate it and just return it lol

Only thing I hate is the way the truck shifts. ECT Power switch resolves that a little bit and @mesojdm makes a module that turns this on automatically everytime you start the truck. Of course, then there is the ShiftSense Pro which is something completely different from ETC Power but does solve the gear searching problem and makes it drive much better.

i had the Pedal Commander... it was so great (as a band-aid fix) that it kept me from selling the truck! but it wasn't enough.... i wanted a proper tune.

got the OV tune and removed the PC, and all is well and perfect over here in white picket fence land now.

you can see my review at the top of the OV Review thread stickied in the 3rd gen forum.

Hmmmmmmm... interesting!! So well worth the $800 you'd say? How about Warranty issues? Does it change how the truck shifts at all or is that still a little annoying?

UPDATE: @St.Germain @ArmandHammer83 damn you guys lol as if i hadn't spent enough money already :facepalm:now that I've researched it and read your review I want it.

Your gonna get a lot of "Yays" on that one bud. I haven't done it myself yet, but so far what I have seen from this form is everyone hates it and takes it off.

    i have a MT truck.

it's worth more than $800 for me, but i'm speaking for myself. can't speak for your values, but if you bought a Tacoma with a motor-muting crap tune, then you bought a very expensive piece of hardware that is being half used. how much is that worth to you to correct?

warranty issues: it has been verified repeatedly (and it's in all these OV threads everywhere over and over in different ways) that Toyota's dealers have the same software tools as OV, so they cannot see anything different. they cannot see you have a tune, or have been flashed, or have altered anything. so the answer is "no warranty concerns". but i'd still recommend minding common sense. you can flash back to the factory tune in 5 minutes before you go to the dealer for peace of mind. which i don't do because they can't know it's flashed.

but you should see the faces of the kids pulling my truck around back. something like o_O

    LMAO dude that is hilarious!!

I'm pretty much sold on it after reading all about it and some of the reviews guys have left. I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport DBSB 2WD. I bought it November of 2017. Knowing now that the engine is only producing half of what its capable of at stock is a bit disappointing, but I am glad to see there is a way to achieve full power and there is actually more power in it. In all honestly, i was excited with the difference I felt just from the intake when installing along with the exhaust. I know it doesn't do much, but it was a noticeable difference for me. So agreed, an $800 purchase to give a $35K truck its full potential, yay I'd say worth it.

What drop have you seen in gas mileage if any at all? I already fill up with 93+ octane at every fill up as well as add a fuel stabilizer such as Stabil360 or StarTron at every fill-up.

Great looking truck and super enhancements you've done.

I'm hoping to add ditch lights soon. I am leaning towards those same Caliraised side shooters & their brackets. Gotta add new rubber first, though.

Thanks. Gonna let crosstown traffic die down a bit and then stretch it out on the interstate and see how it sounds.

This old guy needs all the "outlaw" creds he can get.

Those Side Shooters from CaliRaised are pretty damn awesome man! I think the next best thing might be Rigid Industries which your gonna pay A LOT for those. I haven't had anything from @CaliRaisedLed I've been disappointed with yet. Not to mention, excellent customer service.

Cool, post up how the drone is at cruising speed. That's what is a deal breaker for me. On a long trip that shit will bore a hole in your brain. I really like how deep it is. Do you have a CAI too?

We had a cartridge filter on our old volvo. It used a fitted cap wrench to remove, just like the ones for metal oil filters. It lasted without a problem for the 100k that we owned it, same 10k oil changes. Filters were as expensive as a good brand metal type.

I can't complain about the Taco. The housing is up out of the way and OEM brand filters are only $3. The cap wrench for it engages a lot more solidly on tabs compared to the volvo. I expect it to easily last the life of the truck.

Just an opinion, but I'd stay away from the Fumoto valve unless you have skid plates. The drain bolt is pretty exposed.

The plastic valve covers are interesting.
